A method performed by a network node, for controlling access of a first User Equipment (UE) and a second UE to a cell in a radio communications network is provided. The first UE is of a low complexity type, and wherein the second UE is of a regular type. A first association is assigned to the first UE. The first association associates the first UE with its low complexity type. A second association is assigned to the second UE. The second association associates the second UE with its regular type. The network node controls () access of the first UE and second UE by sending a rule to the first UE and second UE. The rule is related to access control that is different for UEs with different associations, for accessing to the radio communications network. The rule triggers the first UE to perform access barring check based on the first association and the obtained rule when initiating an access attempt to the cell, while the second UE performs access barring check based on the second association and the obtained rule.

Network node, user equipment and methods in a radio communications network

The present application generally relates to wireless communication technology. More particularly, the present application relates to a method and apparatus for scheduling delay associated with HARQ processes in LTE-MTC. The present application also relates to computer program product adapted for the same purpose. According to one embodiment, a method for scheduling delay associated with HARQ processes in LTE-MTC comprises: —a) in response to presence or non-presence of PUCCH repetition, invalid BL/CE DL subframe, invalid BL/CE UL subframe, and measurement gap, determining a HARQ-ACK scheduling counting strategy; and —b) scheduling a HARQ-ACK delay value in accordance with the HARQ-ACK scheduling counting strategy.

Method, apparatus and computer program product for scheduling delay associated with HARQ processes in LTE-MTC

Techniques for facilitating dedicated transmissions over preconfigured uplink resources. Embodiments include techniques to configure subsequent PUR resource utilization (e.g., one-at-a-time basis or on a periodic basis), changes to EDT signaling to allow functioning with PUR, etc. An example method performed by a wireless device configured for use in a wireless communication network includes transmitting (), in an uplink message, a request for a configuration of preconfigured uplink resources. The method further includes receiving (), during a connected mode in which the wireless device has a connection with the wireless communication network, control signaling indicating a first preconfigured resource configuration that configures a first preconfigured resource. Support for transmission in preconfigured UL resources

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for Control Resource Set (CORESET) enhancements for initial access. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises receiving and decoding a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission in a CORESET in accordance with at least a portion of a Control Channel Element (CCE) to Resource Element Group (REG) mapping. The PDCCH transmission comprises one or more CCEs. The CCE to REG mapping comprises an interleaved portion that maps the one or more CCEs to a first set of REGs that are spread across a bandwidth of the CORESET, and a second portion that maps at least a portion of an additional CCE to at least a REG in a frequency gap between two REGs in the first set of REGs, the additional CCE corresponding to one of the CCEs mapped to the first set of REGs.

Coreset enhancement for reduced bandwidth UEs initial access

A method performed by a wireless device, UE, for configuring a semi-persistent scheduling, SPS is described. In accordance with the method, the UE may be configured to monitor a first search space of a physical downlink control channel for downlink control information, DCI, dedicated to the UE. The method may include receiving from the communication network SPS configuration data to configure a second search space to be monitored by the UE for DCI to activate or de-activate the SPS, the second search space being smaller than the first search space, and monitoring the second search space to detect the DCI to activate or de-activate the SPS. A corresponding method may be performed by a network node.

Activation and de-activation of semi-persistent scheduling

Embodiments herein disclose e.g. a method performed by a wireless device () for handling communication for the wireless device in a second wireless communication network. The second wireless communication network coexists with a first wireless communication network on a same bandwidth in frequency, wherein the first wireless communication network applies a first shift in frequency in uplink transmissions. Radio network node, wireless device and methods performed therein for handling communication in a wireless communication network

Systems and methods for selecting subcarriers to be used for sub-Physical Resource Block (PRB) transmission and, in some embodiments, for mapping Demodulation Reference Signals (DMRS) to resources on the selected subcarriers are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a radio node for providing sub-PRB transmission comprises selecting two adjacent subcarriers from a set of three allocated subcarriers that are allocated for a sub-PRB transmission that uses Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) Pi/2 Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulation using only two adjacent subcarriers out of the set of three allocated subcarriers with Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) spread length of 2. In some embodiments, the selection is such that the selected adjacent subcarriers varies, e.g., from one cell to another. In doing so, interference is distributed.

Systems and methods for selecting subcarriers for sub-PRB transmissions

A wireless device determines whether to provide a reduced capability, RedCap, indication via a message 1 of a random access procedure. The wireless device transmits the message 1 based on the determination, and transmits a message 3 of the random access procedure. A RedCap indication is provided via the message 3 at least if a RedCap indication is not provided via the message 1. According to some embodiments, the wireless device receives an indication whether the wireless device is to provide a RedCap indication via the message 1, and the determination is based on the received indication. According to some embodiments, the indication whether the wireless device is to provide a RedCap indication via the message 1 is provided by whether a physical random access channel, PRACH, partition between RedCap wireless devices and other wireless devices is configured.

Early indication for reduced capability devices

Systems and methods for handling transmissions and retransmissions on a periodic preconfigured uplink resource (PUR) are provided. Respective resources for transmission and retransmission can be determined and configured for a wireless device to prevent blocking of a new data transmission on a PUR opportunity by a retransmission attempt. Responsive to determining that a first transmission on the PUR was unsuccessful, a second resource can be configured for the retransmission.

A method is performed by a wireless device for early data transmission. The method comprises receiving a broadcast from a network node. The broadcast indicates a maximum transport block size for early data transmission and a number of transport block size candidates. The method further comprises selecting a transport block size for early data transmission. The transport block size is selected based on a table entry that corresponds to the maximum transport block size and the number of transport block size candidates. According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device operating in connected mode for reporting channel quality comprise: determining that aperiodic channel quality reporting has been triggered for the wireless device and transmitting a downlink channel quality report to a network node.
