A controller output device monitors a media stream buffer on each of multiple receiver output devices. The controller output device determines, at a given instance of time, a buffer data size value of the media stream buffer on each of the receiver output devices. Additionally, the controller output device determines a playback state and a buffer state of one or more of the receiver output devices at the given instance of time, based on the buffer data size values of the media stream buffer of each of the one or more receiver output devices.

Targeted content may be provided to a designated set of one or more interconnected resources. Programmatic operations are executed using resources that are private to the one or more interconnected devices. A media output device operates to receive audio and/or video data for a content item. The audio and/or video data can be communicated from another device over a network. The output device generates an audio or video output for the content item based on the audio or video data. While receiving the audio or video data, the output device determines an instance of time that is synchronized to an external clock reference. The output device also determines an output correction to perform based at least in part on the synchronized instance of time. The output device adjusts the output to include the output correction.

A set of audio output devices may be established and configured to output channel specific audio. Once established, the channel configuration may be changed and updated in response to events such as changes to user preference, or the addition or subtraction of audio output devices to the network. A system and method are provided for remotely monitoring images from an image capturing device. Image data from an image capturing component is received where image data represents images of a scene in a field of view of the image capturing component. The image data may be analyzed to determine that the scene has changed. A determination may be made that the scene has changed. In response to this determination being made, a communication may be transmitted to a designated device, recipient or network location. The communication may be informative that a scene change or event occurred. The communication may be in the form of a notification or an actual image or series of images of the scene after the change or event.

System and method for remotely monitoring and/or viewing images from a camera or video device

A method and system are provided for using the contents of voice files as a basis for enabling search and other selection operations for data items that are associated with those voice files. Voice files may be received having associations with other data items, such as images or records. A corresponding text file is generated for each of the one or more voice files using programmatic means, such as a speech-to-text application. Each text file is provided an association with a data item based on the association of the voice file that served as the basis of its creation. Each text file is then made available for the performance of search and selection operations that result in the identification of associated data items.
