A method is provided for analyzing samples of metal melts, wherein a sample is taken from a metal melt using a sampler having a sample chamber and which is constructed as an immersion lance. The method includes transporting the sample from the sampler through a transport conduit to the sphere of action of an analytical device, and analyzing the sample there using the analytical device.

Method and apparatus for analyzing samples of metal melts

A device is provided for sampling metal melts, in particular molten iron and molten cast iron, with a sample chamber having an inlet opening and tellurium arranged in the sample chamber. The sample chamber contains 0.01 to 0.05 g/cmtellurium based on the volume of the sample chamber and the tellurium is in powder form having an average particle size of at most 150 &#x3bc;m. Additionally or alternatively, the tellurium is in powder form having an average particle size of at least 150 &#x3bc;m and a specific surface area of 0.03 to 0.1 m/g.

Device for sampling metal melts

A sampling device for molten metals is provided having a carrier tube and a sample chamber fixed in the carrier tube, with an inlet piece for the molten metal flowing into the sample chamber. In the inlet piece there is arranged an inlet tube, which has an outlet into the sample chamber and an inlet opening at its other end. The outlet as well as the inlet opening of the inlet tube has a reduced cross section relative to the central part of the inlet tube. The inlet tube is formed of quartz glass, and the wall of the inlet tube is crimped toward the axis of the inlet tube at its two ends.

Sampling device

An apparatus is provided for determination of at least one interface of a slag layer on top of a molten metal. The apparatus has a carrier tube and a measuring head arranged on one end of the carrier tube with a body fixed within the carrier tube and an end face facing away from the carrier tube. The apparatus further includes an oscillator arranged within the measuring head and an induction coil connected with the oscillator and arranged outside of the body and in front of its end face.

Apparatus for determination of an interface of a slag layer

A lance has a top part and a bottom part for arrangement on the sensor or sampler. The top and bottom parts are detachably connected to each other by a plug-in coupling. The plug-in coupling has two coupling parts, one arranged on the top part and the other arranged on the bottom part of the lance, that can be inserted one in the other in the longitudinal direction of the lance. One coupling part has an opening extending from its front face in the longitudinal direction of the lance and an extension formed in the peripheral direction of the coupling part. The other coupling part has a raised portion that engages the extension. A blocking device, movable in the longitudinal direction of the lance, is arranged on the top or bottom part A catch element of the blocking device is arranged at least partially between the raised portion and the opening.

Lance for receiving sensor or sampler for metal melts

An immersion probe has a probe body having a longitudinal axis and an outer surface surrounding the longitudinal axis, wherein a portion of the outer surface has sampling elements, which extend around the longitudinal axis in the peripheral direction and which have a radial dimension. A protective layer, which can be dissolved or combusted in molten steel or slag, is arranged around the sampling elements.

Immersion probe

A sampler is provided for melts, in particular for slags lying on a molten metal, the sampler having a single- or multi-part body for arrangement in a support. The sampler has an inlet and a sample chamber with two opposing chamber walls, wherein an inlet opening is arranged in one chamber wall. In order to make possible homogeneous and stable samples, an intermediate plate with at least one through opening is arranged inside of the sample chamber spaced from the chamber walls.

Sampler for melts, in particular for slags lying on a molten metal

A measuring device for determining the oxygen activity in metal melts or slag melts has a measuring head arranged on the end of a carrier tube, on which head an electrochemical measuring cell is arranged. The electrochemical measuring cell has a solid electrolyte tube closed on one end, which is surrounded on the closed end and at least on a portion of its periphery by a steel tube closed on one end. A reference material and a filler material adjoining the reference material are arranged inside the solid electrolyte tube on its closed end. A metal rod is arranged as an electrode along the solid electrolyte tube in such a manner that, on the one hand, it stands in contact with the reference material and, on the other hand, it projects out of the open end of the solid electrolyte tube. The open end of the solid electrolyte tube has a closure which is constructed as a cap, which fits on the exterior of the steel tube or the solid electrolyte tube, and the closure is gas-permeable.

Measuring device for determining the oxygen activity in metal melts or slag melts

A sampler for melts, in particular for slag, includes a body having an inlet and a sample chamber with an inlet opening. The inlet opening is located in a chamber wall delimited by a first metal plate with an opening. Removal of a sample from the sample chamber is simplified by arranging a second metal plate flat against the first metal plate, with the second metal plate having an opening that, together with the opening of the first metal plate, forms the inlet opening.

Sampler for melts

A sampler is provided for melts, especially for slag lying on top of molten metals, having a one piece or multi-piece body arranged on a carrier. The body of the sampler has an intake and a sample chamber, wherein the intake has a surface which is at least partially formed by a slag-repellant material.

A sampling device for molten metals, especially for molten cast iron or pig iron, has a sampling chamber arranged in a refractory body mounted on a carrier. The sampling chamber is bounded on two opposing walls by one metal plate each, and has at least one inlet opening for molten metal on a further wall. In order to create a sampling device with which samples are obtained which have the best possible white solidification and at the same time have the sturdiness necessary for an automatic sample analysis, a metal disk is separably arranged in the interior of the sampling chamber on at least one of the two metal plates. The diameter of metal disk is smaller than the diameter of the sampling chamber, and the thickness of the disk is less than the thickness of the sampling chamber.
