Independent power-control procedures per beam-pair link (BPL). In one embodiment, such a power-control procedure comprises: 1) an open-loop part based on the estimated DL path loss for the active and back-up (or 'non-active') BPLs in the UE and 2) a closed-loop part where the UL power-control adjustment commands are transmitted from the network and accumulated in the UE independently per active BPL. The UL transmit power is determined from the power-control procedure associated with the active BPL scheduled for transmission.

Beam based uplink (UL) power control

A method performed by a wireless device for handling two or more beamformed communication links initialized with one or more network nodes in a wireless communications network is provided. The wireless device determines at least one compatibility state for the two or more beamformed communication links based on one or more current radio signal characteristics at the wireless device for the two or more beamformed communication links, wherein the at least one compatibility state indicates if the wireless device currently is able to simultaneously receive transmission beams of the two or more beamformed communication links or not. The wireless device transmits information indicating the at least one determined compatibility state for the two or more beamformed communication links to at least one of the one or more network nodes. A wireless device as well as a network node and method of operation thereof are also disclosed.

Wireless device, a network node and methods therein for handling beamformed communication links in a wireless communications network

Embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a radio-network node () for handling Beam Reference Signals, BRS, of a beam transmitted by the radio-network node () in a wireless communications network. The radio-network node creates BRS blocks, wherein each BRS block comprises a respective group of adjacent subcarriers for the BRS belonging to a port of the beam, wherein the BRS belonging to the port is carried over each subcarrier in the respective group of adjacent subcarriers of each BRS block. Furthermore, the radio-network node transmits the BRS blocks spread over a bandwidth in a same Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, symbol.

Methods and systems for providing channel estimation

A wireless device () and a method for initiating a procedure for re-establishing a capability of communication in a wireless communications network (). The wireless device () and a radio network node () operate in the wireless communications network (). The wireless device () receives, from the radio network node (), a first signal that is specific for the wireless device (). Embodiments herein relate a method performed by a first radio-network node () for managing signaling in a wireless communication network, the first radio-network node provides radio coverage over a first service area in the wireless communication network. Wireless device, radio-network node, and methods performed therein for managing signaling in a wireless communication network

A network node (), a wireless terminal () and methods therein, for supporting beam tracking in the wireless terminal () when a selected network beam (B) and a selected terminal beam (T) are used. The network node () identifies a set of candidate network beams (B) having spatial characteristics similar to the selected network beam (B), and signals the candidate network beams to the wireless terminal (). When the network node () transmits beam reference signals in the candidate network beams using beam sweeping, the wireless terminal () measures received power using different candidate terminal beams (T) and estimates received power of combinations of beam reference signal and candidate terminal beam that have not been measured, based on the measured combinations of beam reference signal and candidate terminal beam.

Methods, network node and wireless terminal for beam tracking when beamforming is employed

A Network Node (NN)and a method therein for beam selection. When an upcoming ability to serve a Wireless Device (WD)using a current NN beam is predicted to be lost based on historic data, the NN selects an upcoming NN beam out of one or more candidate NN beams that are able to serve the WD when the NN has lost ability to serve the WD using the current NN beam. The NN configures a dedicated Beam Reference Signal (BRS) for the upcoming NN beam, which is to be detected in beam selection by the WD when the NN loses ability to serve the wireless device using the current NN beam. By means of the current NN beam, the NN transmits, to the WD, a configuration of the dedicated BRS. Further, by means of the upcoming NN beam, the NN transmits, to the WD, the dedicated BRS.

A wireless device () is configured to receive a reference signal () from network equipment () using a receiver configuration (). The receiver configuration () uses one or more physical resources at the wireless device (). Reference signal reporting in a wireless communication system

Systems and methods are disclosed for providing efficient downlink Hybrid Automatic Request (HARQ) feedback. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a wireless device in a cellular communications system comprises receiving a downlink control information message comprising a HARQ feedback buffer index and storing a downlink HARQ feedback flag in a position within a HARQ feedback buffer that corresponds to the HARQ feedback buffer index. In this manner, multiple downlink HARQ feedback flags can be stored in the HARQ feedback buffer and subsequently transmitted to a network node in an efficient manner.

Robustness enhancements of efficient HARQ feedback

Reference signal tracking in a wireless communication system

A self-positioning portable electronic device comprises a signal receiving unit for receiving a signal from one or more remote transmitters, and a local positioning unit for determining a local position of the device. The device operates to obtain a plurality of data samples from the signal at different time points during a measurement period with movement of the portable electronic device along an arbitrary trajectory, associate each data sample with a local position obtained from the local positioning unit so as to form a synthetic antenna array, obtain an array response of the synthetic antenna array, and identify the geographic location of the portable electronic device, by processing the synthetic antenna array as a function of the array response and using knowledge about the geographic location of the transmitter(s).
