A hearing protector having an ear cup forming a space for a wearer's ear. The ear cup has a shell with an ear facing inner side and a passageway extending through the shell between the ear facing inner side and an outer side of the shell. The ear cup further has a loudspeaker assembly which seals the passageway from the outer side. The loud speaker assembly further has a seal member and a loudspeaker module. A portion of the seal member is arranged between the shell and a fastener, and the fastener retains the loudspeaker assembly at the shell. The hearing protector facilitates manufacturing and maintenance and provides for maximize wearing comfort and technical reliability.

Hearing protector and a method of making a hearing protector

A hearing protector () having an ear cup () forming a space for a wearer's ear. The ear cup has a shell () with an ear facing inner side () and a passageway extending through the shell between the ear facing inner side and an outer side () of the shell. The ear cup further has a loudspeaker assembly which seals the passageway from the outer side. The loud speaker assembly further has a seal member () and a loudspeaker module (). A portion of the seal member is arranged between the shell and a fastener (), and the fastener retains the loudspeaker assembly at the shell. The hearing protector facilitates manufacturing and maintenance and provides for maximize wearing comfort and technical reliability.

A hearing protector has two closed muffs () which sealingly abut against the wearer's head, so that there is formed a closed space in each muff () and about the user's ear. A loudspeaker () is disposed interiorly in the muff and has a membrane () whose one side is turned to face towards the user's ear, and whose opposing side is turned to face towards a closed volume which is defined by the membrane and an enclosure. In order to improve the base reproduction in listening to music, the interior of the enclosure is, via at least one hole or one duct, in communication with the ambient surroundings outside the closed space of the muff (). In one preferred embodiment, the enclosure comprises a capsule () which is integrated part of the loudspeaker ().
