A mixer assembly comprises a motor, a motor shaft, a propeller connected to the motor shaft and in operation driven by the motor in a first direction of rotation about a propeller axis, the propeller fully submersed in liquid during operation and in rotation generating liquid flow from a suction side to a pressure side of the propeller. Flow control vanes are arranged on the suction side of the propeller, and oriented in an axial plane to deflect the liquid from substantially axial flow into a flow containing a circumferential component of direction which is opposed to the direction of rotation of the propeller. A method for providing axial liquid flow from a mixer propeller that is fully submerged in liquid during operation comprises the steps of applying flow control on the suction side of the mixer propeller through the arrangement of flow control vanes.

An axial face seal arrangement, which is arranged for joint rotation with a drive shaft in a rotary machine, includes a base element and a moving part, wherein the base element is connectable to a drive shaft for joint movement therewith, the moving part presenting a sealing end face and being axially movable in relation to the base element and biased from the base element by a spring, wherein the moving part and the base element include at least one torque driver pin and at least one corresponding aperture into which the torque driver pin is displacably inserted for joint rotational movement of the moving part with the base element. At least one wear protection pin is arranged between the torque driver pin and the aperture at a force transmitting interface of the torque driver pin and the aperture.

Axial face seal assembly

A sealing arrangement for a pump including an electric motor/generator and a pump housing, said sealing arrangement including: an intermediate barrier liquid chamber; a mechanical face seal positioned between the pump housing and the intermediate barrier liquid chamber; and, a pumping seal positioned between the intermediate barrier liquid chamber and the electric motor/generator such that air is on a first side thereof and liquid contained in the intermediate barrier liquid chamber is on an oppositely disposed second side thereof, the pumping seal being adapted to repump leakage of liquid from the second side to the first side of the pumping seal.

Mechanical seal

The invention concerns a seal housing for a mechanical seal device. The seal device is arranged within a cavity (6) provided with a spiral notch (11) at its mantle surface for feeding particles in the liquid in a direction away from the seal means (7) and toward an impeller. The spiral notch opening axially toward the impeller.

Seal housing

A cavity in the housing, which confines the seal therewithin, has an annular wall surface which is modified to direct liquid from the cavity towards the impeller. In one embodiment, the wall surface has a helical land formed therein. In another embodiment, a helical-land forming insert is set within the cavity and in engagement with the wall surface.
