A park lock assembly for a vehicle transmission includes a toothed park lock gear and a moveable locking pawl that is moveable between an engaged state, in which the locking pawl is in locking engagement with the park lock gear, and a disengaged state, in which the park lock gear is freely rotatable relative to the locking pawl. The park lock assembly also includes an inductive angular position sensor located on an axial side of the park lock gear and configured for detecting angular position of the park lock gear.

A method for turning off an internal combustion engine (ICE) where a clutch arrangement has first and second clutches that respectively couple the ICE to first and second input shafts of a transmission. The input shafts are drivingly connected to first and second sets of gears, respectively. The sets of gears are connected to an output shaft of the transmission. The method includes: controlling the ICE in an idling state when the vehicle is in standstill, wherein the clutches are in open positions; engaging the first input shaft with a first pre-selected gear, and engaging the second input shaft with a second pre-selected gear; initiating an engine turning off command; stopping the ICE by at least partly closing the clutches for simultaneously introducing torque transfer to the clutches into a transmission tie-up state for a controlled engine stop, wherein engine inertia of the ICE is captured in the clutches.

The transmission system includes a transmission control unit for determining a recommended gear in the automatic and manual modes. In the manual mode, an operating gear of the transmission system is detected by the transmission control unit. A change of the operational mode from manual to automatic by means of the user input device is detected, and if the detected operating gear in the manual mode when changing to automatic mode is lower than the recommended gear, the sailing functionality in the automatic mode is deactivated.

An auto-stop start system for a vehicle. The auto-stop start system has a control unit with an auto-stop start function controlling stop and start of an engine of the vehicle, and a control device by which control device the auto-stop start function can be temporarily deactivated by an operator of the vehicle. The control unit is configured to reactivate the auto-stop start function after a predetermined duration of a temporary deactivation. The predetermined duration of the temporary deactivation of the auto-stop start function is selectable by means of the control device.
