An air purifier and methods to sterilize an internal surface of an air purifier. The air purifier includes a removable particulate or gas filter, an air flow generator, a controller for said air flow generator, a first air flow setting with an air filtration air flow speed, and a second air flow setting which correlates with sterilization of an internal surface of the air purifier and/or removable particulate or gas filter. The air flow speed measured at the removable filter at the second air flow setting is from 0.1 to 1.2 cms.

An air purifying bed tent is disclosed, having a tent made from a semipermeable material suspended over a raised platform, thereby creating an enclosure for a user to be inside. An air purifying device is connected to the top of the tent, letting purified air into the enclosure and creating a local clean air zone for users. The positive pressure difference building up in the enclosure from the constantly added clean air forces clean air out through a plurality of openings, primarily through creases in the semipermeable material around the raised platform. Should the skirting be completely sealed, the semipermeable material will let out the pure air to a higher degree, ensuring a stable and easy touse operation.

An air treatment device includes a casing with an air inlet and an air outlet. Air flows through the casing and an air treatment section in the casing. The air treatment section includes a fan for generating a flow of air from the air inlet to the air outlet, a filtering means arranged within the flow of air, a first pressure sensor to measure a first pressure in the flow of air, a second pressure sensor to measure a second pressure in a room or cabin surrounding the air treatment device, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to adapt a speed of the fan based on the measured first pressure and the measured second pressure to control a flow of air through the air treatment device.

An air purifier device is provided including a fan unit including a fan arranged to produce an air flow through the air purifier device, and a filter unit including a filter arranged to filter the air flow produced by the fan. The filter unit is adapted to stand on a support surface when the air purifier device is positioned for use. The air purifier device further includes a coupling mechanism arranged to secure the fan unit on top of the filter unit. The coupling mechanism includes two release means arranged on opposite outer sides of the fan unit, and the fan unit is releasable from the filter unit by actuating the two release means. The filter unit may be removed from the fan unit by a single action (or movement) by the user, whereby filter replacement of the air purifier device is facilitated.

A vehicle is provided including a cabin, a conduit arranged to conduct a flow of air from outside the vehicle to the cabin, and a filter unit arranged to filter at least a portion of the flow of air before it enters the cabin. Further, an ionizing unit is arranged in the conduit upstream of the filter unit as seen in the direction of the flow of air so as to charge particles present in the flow of air and transmit at least a major part of the charged particles towards the filter unit. The at least one collector electrode has a tube-like shape arranged to conduct at least a portion of the flow of air, and the at least one emitter electrode is arranged at a central axis of the tube-like shaped collector electrode, whereby a more uniform ionization field is provided.

An air purifier device includes a chamber defined by a side wall arranged to guide an air flow through the air purifier device. The air purifier device further includes at least one emitter electrode and at least one collector plate electrode arranged to ionize airborne particles. The at least one emitter electrode is arranged to extend from the side wall and inwards in the chamber and the at least one collector plate electrode is arranged to extend from the side wall and inwards in the chamber. The air purifier device enables the side wall to be manufactured from e.g. plastic, or other non-conductive or non-magnetic material. This in turn may enable a lower weight of the air purifier device and facilitated manufacturing, as the side walls of the chamber e.g. may be formed by plastic moulding just as many other parts of the air purifier device.

An air purifier device is provided including a fan arranged to produce an air flow through the air purifier device, and a fan duct for guiding the air flow produced by the fan. The fan duct extends in an upright direction of the air purifier device. The air purifier device further includes an air intake arranged below a lower end of the fan duct, and an exhaust arranged at an upper end of the fan duct so as to exhaust purified air in an upward direction from the air purifier device when the air purifier device is in use. The fan duct is flared in direction from an intermediate portion of the fan duct towards both it ends, and the fan is arranged at least partly in the intermediate portion. A facilitated circulation of air through the room and through the air purifier device standing in the room is provided.
