A system, computer software and method for collecting, in addition to position data, additional positioning data in a user terminal served by a communication network. The method includes initiating, by generating a message within the user terminal, collection of the positioning data, where the positioning data includes information based on which a physical location of the user terminal is determined; measuring, by the user terminal, at least one parameter related to the physical location of the user terminal in response to the message; producing, within the user terminal, measurement reports that include the at least one parameter; selecting, within the user terminal, one or more measurement reports that were generated in response to the message generated by the user terminal; reporting the selected one or more measurement reports to an interface within the user terminal; and transmitting, from the interface, the reported one or more measurement reports to an external server or to the communication network.

Measurement systems and methods for fingerprinting positioning

The invention relates to a method, a map providing device, a computer program and a computer program product for presenting a digital map via a map presenting unit of a user terminal. An object () and a first position (P) of this object are obtained together with a digital map (M) comprising a reference position (RP) and the first position (P). A line (L) is determined, which at one end is to be connected to the reference position and at another opposite end to the first position. Then a geographical area (A) of the digital map including the reference position is presented. If the first position (P) is outside of the geographical area then a part (LA) of the line stretching through the geographical area is presented. If not no line is presented. The appearance of the line when presented is dependent on the distance between the reference position and the first position.

Handset, computer software and method for protecting sensitive network information, available in the handset, from disclosure to an unauthorized server, by using an abstraction function module, the handset being connected to a network. A cable connector comprising a housing comprising a first and second housing parts adapted to be connected into a closed state and be separated into an open state. The first housing part holds a first core wire of the first cable and a first joining part attached to an end of the first core wire and adapted to move in a first and second direction along a first sliding path. A method and service-related nodes for providing a deferred distance notification for at least two user devices. A Location-based gateway receives a request for a deferred distance notification for user devices, and sends a request to a Location enabler for the location of the user devices. The gateway receives location data from the Location enabler, and monitors the fulfillment of user device distance-related event criteria. When a user device distance-related event criterion is fulfilled, the gateway triggers the deferred distance notification, and sends the notification of the user device distance event to an application node. The application node sends a location request after which the Application node receives the notification. Distance notification can thus be provided to a user requesting a location-deferred service, such that the location of entire groups of users can be revealed to the requesting party.

Methods and systems for obscuring network topologies

In a method and arrangement for providing a reliable location for a communication terminal, a first location is obtained for the terminal by means of a first access mechanism. A second location is also obtained for the terminal by means of a second access mechanism, and the obtained first and second locations are then compared. The location of the terminal is validated if the obtained first and second locations are found to be substantially equal. Thereby, a more reliable location of the terminal can be used to support communication services requiring or needing such position information, such as emergency services. The validated location of the terminal can also be used for validating the location of an end point used by the terminal in an access network with fixed end points, or for validating a used positioning mechanism.

Method and arrangement for providing location information on a communication terminal

The present invention presents a method for creating a relation between mobiles and a vehicle of a wireless communications network. The vehicle is equipped with an on-board device with wireless communication capability. The present invention also presents an on-board device and a road user server to be used in such wireless communications network. Mobiles in the vehicle are triggered to report their location to the network. When the vehicle reports its location an association between the vehicle and the mobiles having same location information is performed. The triggering signal is sent on control channels triggering all mobiles, including mobiles in idle mode. Profiles of mobile users in a vehicle, based on location information and mobile identities, are retrieved and stored in lists which are forwarded to fore example hospitals and fire departments when an accident occurs.
