The present invention relates to a composition comprising a) an aqueous dispersion of polymer particles and b) a hydrophobically modified poly(oxyalkylene-urethane) rheology modifier having a 1) backbone; and 2) a hydrophobic portion represented by Fragment I: where R and Rare defined herein. The composition is useful as an aqueous coating formulation that exhibits a highly shear thinning rheology profile suitable for spray applications to provide high sag resistance without adverse impact on gloss or corrosion resistance.

Embodiments include curable compositions including an epoxy resin and a hardener component including a polymer having first constitutional unit, a second constitutional unit, and a third constitutional unit, where the epoxy group to the second constitutional unit has a molar ratio in a range of 0.5:1 to 5:1. Embodiments include prepregs that include a reinforcement component and the curable composition and an electrical laminate formed with the curable composition.

The present invention generally relates to solution electrospinning processes for fabricating fibers, to the fibers prepared thereby, and to non-woven webs, fabrics, porous composite filter media, and articles comprising the fibers.

High-output solvent-based electrospinning

A transparent polyurethane-hydrogel composition includes a reaction product in aqueous solvent of a prepolymer and a water-soluble crosslinker in the substantial absence of organic solvent, and such a composition can be prepared by admixing a prepolymer and a water-soluble crosslinker in aqueous solvent and in the substantial absence of organic solvent. A prepolymer is present in an amount of no greater than about 5 weight percent based on total weight of all hydrogel components. The prepolymer is generally prepared from at least one water-soluble polyol and an isocyanate. A water-soluble crosslinker generally has a crosslinker functionality of at least 2 and is selected to provide a site ratio of initial isocyanate to crosslinker (i.e., moles NCO&#xd7;functionality/moles crosslinker&#xd7;functionality) of at least about 1.5 and no greater than about 2.6. In one embodiment, a crosslinker is effective to react with and solubilize residual isocyanate concurrently with the reaction between prepolymer and crosslinker. A transparent polyurethane-hydrogel composition has desirable gel physical properties and is useful for an air-freshener application.
