In an embodiment, the disclosure provides a programmed computer system implemented via client-server Software as a Service (SaaS) techniques that allows for machine translation of digital content. When translating digital content, linguists must translate more than just the text on the page. Formatting, for example, is a commonly used and important aspect of online content that is typically managed with tags, such as &#x3c;b&#x3e; for bold and &#x3c;i&#x3e; for italics. When linguists work, they must ensure these tags are placed accurately as part of the translation. Projecting tags accurately depends on successfully accomplishing the challenging task of word alignment. Unfortunately, if word alignment is inaccurate, it makes placing formatting tags very difficult. In an embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method of not only translating text, but also efficiently and accurately projecting tags from input text in one language to output text in another language.

End-to-end neural word alignment process of suggesting formatting in machine translations

An apparatus has a network interface circuit to receive a source sentence from a network connected client device. A processor is connected to the network interface circuit. A memory is connected to the processor. The memory stores parameters of a multilingual neural review system and instructions executed by the processor to operate the multilingual neural review system trained on a corpus of source sentences, draft target sentences and corrected target sentences. The multilingual neural review system produces a corrected target sentence from a draft target sentence representing a proposed translation of the source sentence. The draft target sentence and the corrected target sentence are supplied to the network connected client device. Approval for the corrected target sentence is received from the network connected client device. Parameters of the multilingual neural review system are updated based upon the approval for the corrected target sentence.

Apparatus and method for accurate translation reviews and consistency across multiple translators

An apparatus has a network interface circuit to receive a source sentence from a network connected client device. A processor is connected to the network interface circuit. A memory is connected to the processor. The memory stores parameters of a neural machine translation system and instructions executed by the processor to operate the neural machine translation system trained on a corpus of source sentences and corresponding target sentences. The neural machine translation system is trained to predict a target sentence from a source sentence. A translation hypothesis is formed for the source sentence to form the target sentence. The target sentence is supplied to the network connected client device. A correct translation is received from the network connected client device. Parameters of the neural machine translation system are updated based upon the correct translation.

Apparatus and method for an adaptive neural machine translation system

An apparatus has a network interface circuit to receive a source sentence from a network connected client device. A processor is connected to the network interface circuit. A memory is connected to the processor. The memory stores translation data and instructions executed by the processor. The instructions executed by the processor operate a neural machine translation system. A translation hypothesis is formed from a prefix of a target sentence comprising an initial sequence of target words supplied by a user through an interface. The hypothesis is generated by the neural machine translation system that performs a constrained prefix decoding that repeatedly predicts a next word from previous target words. A suffix of the target sentence comprising a final sequence of words corresponding to a final sequence of words in the source sentence is formed using a beam search that constrains translation to match the prefix.
