A method of operating a vacuum pump system, the method including the steps of: operating a primary vacuum pump having a variable speed motor; connecting at least two secondary vacuum pumps in parallel with said primary vacuum pump; dividing the secondary vacuum pumps in groups, each group including at least one secondary vacuum pump; and assigning a priority for each of said groups. The method further includes the steps of measuring the inlet pressure p, comparing the measured inlet pressure pwith a predetermined pressure value p, and if pis higher than p, starting the secondary vacuum pump at a first predetermined startup load Sif it includes a fixed speed motor, and/or starting the secondary vacuum pump at a second predetermined startup load S, if it includes a variable speed motor.

Method for operating a vacuum pump system and vacuum pump system applying such method

A method of operating a vacuum pump system, the method including the steps of: operating a primary vacuum pump having a variable speed motor; connecting at least two secondary vacuum pumps in parallel with said primary vacuum pump; dividing the secondary vacuum pumps in groups, each group including at least one secondary vacuum pump; and assigning a priority for each of said groups. The present invention is directed to a method for controlling the outlet temperature of an oil injected compressor or vacuum pump comprising a compressor or vacuum element provided with a gas inlet, an element outlet, and an oil inlet, said method comprising the steps of: measuring the outlet temperature at the element outlet; and controlling the position of a regulating valve in order to regulate the flow of oil flowing through a cooling unit connected to said oil inlet; whereby the step of controlling the position of the regulating valve involves applying a fuzzy logic algorithm on the measured outlet temperature; and in that the method further comprises the step of controlling the speed of a fan cooling the oil flowing through the cooling unit by applying the fuzzy logic algorithm and further based on the position of the regulating valve.

A method for regulating the temperature at an outlet channel of a compressor or a vacuum element, including providing a pressure regulating valve on a influence channel, the influence channel being in direct fluid communication with the compressor or vacuum element, the valve regulating the pressure within the compressor or vacuum element by adjusting the volume of fluid flowing between a process channel and the compressor or vacuum element relative to the difference between the pressure value within the compressor or vacuum element and a set pressure value, and includes starting the compressor or vacuum element and starting a pre-purge cycle by connecting the inlet channel to a supply of a purge gas for a preselected time interval; connecting the influence channel to a process channel; and disconnecting the inlet channel from the process channel, for maintaining a set temperature within the vacuum element for a selected time interval.

An inlet valve for regulating the pressure at the inlet channel of a vacuum pump comprising: a first chamber defined by a housing having at least one inlet channel connected to a first supply of a fluid, comprising a movable element defining two cavities fluidly sealed from each-other and means for exerting a force on the movable element; a second chamber separated from the first chamber by a wall and defined by a housing, being in direct communication with a process channel of a second supply of a fluid; a valve body slidably mounted in the wall to prevent a fluid flow between the second chamber and the second cavity of the first chamber, the valve body having a distal end and a proximal end, wherein the valve body comprises a fluid channel extending through the valve body allowing a fluid flow between the first cavity and the inlet channel.

Method for preventing condensate in the oil of an oil-injected compressor (), characterised in that before the compressor element () is stopped, when the maximum pressure (pmax) in the consumer network () has been reached, the compressor element continues to be driven until the temperature (T) of the oil or the compressed gas is lower than a set fixed or calculated minimum value (Tmin) above which there is no or as little condensate as possible in the oil.
