Aqueous stoving enamels containing resins A which have hydroxyl groups and are made hydrophilic by partially neutralized acid groups, and highly etherified aminoplasts B, characterised in that the aqueous solutions or dispersions of the resin have a pH value of 6 or below, a method for the preparation thereof, and a method of use comprising coating thermally sensitive substrates.

A water-dispersible polyurethane resin comprising building blocks derived from polyisocyanates A, polyols B having a number-average molar mass Mof at least 400 g/mol, where appropriate, low molar mass polyols C with Mbelow 400 g/mol, compounds D which possess at least two groups which are reactive toward isocyanate groups and at least one group which is capable of forming anions, low molar mass polyols E which in relation to isocyanate groups carry no further reactive groups, compounds F, which are monofunctional toward isocyanates or contain active hydrogen of different reactivity and are different from the compounds E and also, where appropriate, compounds G, which are different from B, C, D, E and F and contain at least two groups which are reactive with NCO groups, wherein the number-average molar mass Mof the polyurethane resin is at least 10 kg/mol, its weight-average molar mass Mis at least 20 kg/mol, and its acid number is from 20 to 50 mg/g; a process for its preparation; and its use as a binder.

High molar mass polyurethane dispersions

Storage-stable polyurethane dispersions preparable by reacting polydienes A which carry at least two isocyanate-reactive groups, polyols B which carry at least one acid group, polyfunctional isocyanates C and chain extenders D, wherein the acid groups of the polyols B are neutralized to a fraction of from 60 to 95%, processes for preparing them, and their use for producing elastic coatings.

Aqueous polyurethane dispersions containing polybutadiene units

Water dilutable binder for soft feel coating materials, comprising an aqueous dispersion of a hydroxyl-containing polyester-urethane A, preparable by reacting a polyester A1 with hydroxyl groups as functional groups, formed from difunctional or polyfunctional carboxylic acids A11 and difunctional or polyfunctional alcohols A12, with a polyfunctional isocyanate A2, with a compound A3 having at least one isocyanate-reactive group and at least one acid group, an aqueous solution or dispersion of a triazine resin B, wherein the glass transition temperature of the polyester-urethane A is between &minus;70 and &minus;20&deg; C. and wherein the hydroxyl number of the polyester-urethane A is from 10 to 120 mg/g, a process for its preparation, and its use in soft feel coating materials for plastics, metals, glass, wood, textiles, and leather.

Water dilutable binders for soft feel coating materials

Oxidatively drying aqueous polyurethane dispersions obtainable by reacting drying and/or simidrying oils with low molar mass hydroxy compounds having two or more hydroxyl groups to give compounds containing on average at least one hydroxyl group and at least one radical of a fatty acid having at least one olefinic double bond, then reacting these compounds together with high molar mass polyols, compounds having at least two isocyanate-reactive groups and at least one acid or cation-forming group with polyfunctional isocyanates to give prepolymers having a mass fraction of unreacted isocyanate groups of from 0.1 to 4%, then neutralizing the product and transferring the utilized product to the aqueous phase, a process for preparing them and their use for coating wood.

Oxidatively drying polyurethane dispersions

Soft feel lacquers comprising water dilutable binders A which possess functional groups, selected from hydroxyl, amino and carboxyl groups, and of curing agents B which have functional groups capable of reacting with the functional groups of the components A, and forming chemical bonds as cross-linking sites, wherein at least one of the components A and B contains a sufficient quantity of aromatic constituent units to ensure that the mass fraction of the aromatic constituent units in relation to the solid matter in the combination of binder and curing agent is not less than 3%.

Water-dilutable binder for &ldquo;soft feel&rdquo; lacquers

Aqueous binders for soft feel materials, comprising predominantly aliphatic, water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers A having terminal or lateral cyclic carbonate groups and an amine B having at least two primary amino groups, the ratio of the number of primary amino groups in the component B to the number of cyclic carbonate groups in the component A being from 7:3 to 3:7.
