In a method for print tuning of a printer or copier, at least one first region of a first printing element to be printed is selected. Further, at least one third region of a second printing element to be printed is selected. The second printing element can be different from the first printing element. Additionally, the first and the third region can be repeatedly printed on a same proof sheet to print tune the printer or copier. The at least one printing parameter can be varied from region to region in the repeated printing of the first region, and from region to region in the repeated printing of the third region.

Method for print tuning a printer or copier

In a method to administer, via a print job administrator, print jobs to be printed at a printing system, a plurality of print jobs are determined. A print job can indicate a specification of one or more print features. Different specifications of a print feature may require different configurations of the printing system. Change-over expenditures for the printing of at least two print jobs of the plurality of print jobs by the printing system can be determined based on the specification of the one or more print features of the plurality of print jobs. An order for the printing of the plurality of print jobs can be determined based on the change-over expenditures. The order of the plurality of print jobs can be indicated.

Method and device for sequencing print jobs

In a method or print job administrator to determine status of a print job, a print job is printed on a recording medium. An ID of a transport on which the recording medium is located is determined, the recording medium being printed to according to the print job. The transport has a positioner. A position of the transport is determined using the positioner, the positioner comprising an active RFID transponder arranged at the transport and supplied with power. The determining of the position of transport includes receipt of position data with regard to the position of the transport from a plurality of distributed RFID readers. The determining of the position of the transport occurs by using the position data of the plurality of distributed RFID readers.

Method and device to locate a print job in a printing center

In a method or controller to execute a proof job of a copy print job, the proof job including a printing of a proof sheet, at a first point in time first raster data for the print sheet of the copy print job is provided. After expiration of a first provisioning time period at least one first job is inserted for printing a plurality of copies of the print sheet into a print buffer. A second point in time is determined at which the print buffer includes a first number of copies of the print sheet that are to be printed, the first number being such that a time period for printing of the first number of copies is greater than or equal to a second provisioning time period for providing of second raster data for the proof sheet of the proof job. After expiration of the second provisioning time period a second job is inserted to print the proof sheet into the print buffer so that copies of the print sheet and the proof sheet are printed according to an order of the first and the second jobs in the print buffer.
