A mass spectrometer with an ionization chamber with a feed channel for a gas to be examined, including an electron source (d, n) for ionizing the gas to be examined, electrodes (c) for accelerating the ionizing electrons, electrodes (g, h, j, m) for the mass-dependent separation of the ions by acceleration/deceleration thereof, a detector (l) for the separated ions, a wiring with metallic conductors. The components are arranged on a plane nonconductive substrate (), having an energy filter (k) for the ions, the energy filter being embodied as a 90&#xb0; sector, is constructed in completely planar fashion. Mass spectrometer

A tracking device (') for tracking a tip () of an interventional instrument such as a catheter () during an interventional procedure performed on an associated subject () and monitored by magnetic resonance imaging includes a resonant circuit () disposed at the tip () of the catheter (). The resonant circuit () includes a coil (&#x2032;) having a coil inductance and a light-sensitive metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitor () optically coupled with an optical fiber () and having a selected capacitance determined by an intensity of light delivered by the optical fiber (). A selected resonance frequency of the resonant circuit () is determined by the coil inductance and the selected capacitance. The resonance frequency is adjusted by modulating the intensity of light delivered to the light-sensitive metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitor ().

Catheter tip tracking for interventional procedures monitored by magnetic resonance imaging

A process for depositing metal-containing layers which have a high specific electrical conductivity, involving the decomposition of organometallic compounds in a hydrogen-containing gas or vapor phase by means of a plasma. The energy density of the plasma is optimized, which involves recording an OES spectrum. It is thus possible to produce, e.g., strongly adhering conductor tracks whose width is less than 50 .mu.m and whose ratio of height to width is greater than 1. Also disclosed are a method for optimizing the deposition of metal-containing layers having a high specific conductivity, and a composite body produced by the process of the invention comprising a polymer substrate and a metal layer deposited thereon.
