A dual clutch transmission may include a first input shaft, a second input shaft, a first output shaft and a second output shaft; a first gear constrained to the first input shaft; a second gear and a third gear constrained to the second input shaft; a fourth gear provided to constrain the rotation to the second input shaft; a fifth gear which is engaged with the third gear; a sixth gear which is gear-engaged with the fourth gear; a seventh gear which is engaged with the first gear; an eighth gear which is gear-engaged with the second gear; and a ninth gear which is gear-engaged with the fourth gear.

Dual clutch transmission

Provided is a dual clutch transmission. First and second input shafts are mounted concentrically. First and second output shafts are mounted in parallel to the first input shaft and respectively include output gears engaged with a ring gear of a differential. The rotations of first and second gears are restrained by the first input shaft. The rotations of third and fourth gears are restrained by the second input shaft. The rotations of fifth and sixth gears engaged with the second and third gears, respectively, are restrained by the first output shaft. The rotation of a seventh gear engaged with the first gear is restrained by the second output shaft. An eighth gear is engaged with the second gear to be rotatable about the second output shaft. The rotation of a ninth gear engaged with the fourth gear and restrained by the eighth gear is restrained by the second output shaft.

The present disclosure provides a multiple speed transmission having an input member, an output member, a plurality of planetary gearsets, a plurality of interconnecting members and a plurality of torque-transmitting mechanisms. Each of the plurality of planetary gearsets includes a sun gear, a ring gear, and a carrier member with pinion gears. The input member is selectively interconnected with at least one member of one of the plurality of planetary gear sets, and the output member is continuously interconnected with another member of one of the plurality of planetary gear sets. At least ten forward speeds and one reverse speed are achieved by the selective engagement of the plurality of torque-transmitting mechanisms.

Multi-speed transmission

The first planetary gear set is configured to integrally rotate by a first clutch. The first element is coupled with the fifth element. The second element is configured to be locked through a first brake to a stationary section and configured to be coupled through a second clutch with the ninth element. The third element is coupled with the input shaft. The fourth element is configured to be coupled through a third clutch with the ninth element. The sixth element is locked to the stationary section. The seventh element is configured to be locked through a second brake to the stationary section. The eighth element is coupled with an output shaft. The ninth element is coupled with the twelfth element. The tenth element is configured to be coupled through a fourth clutch with the output shaft. The eleventh element is coupled with the input shaft.

Automatic transmission for vehicle

An automatic transmission includes a double-pinion planetary gearset and two single-pinion planetary gearsets. A first ring gear is held stationary. A second sun gear and a third ring gear are coupled to a first sun gear and a first carrier respectively, constituting first and second rotor units. An output is coupled to a third carrier. A first clutch selectively couples a second carrier to the first rotor unit. A second clutch selectively couples the second carrier to the second rotor unit. A third clutch selectively couples an input to the second carrier. A fourth clutch selectively couples a second ring gear to a third sun gear. A fifth clutch selectively couples the second ring gear to the third carrier. A sixth clutch selectively couples the input to the third sun gear. Nine forward gear ratios and one reverse gear ratio are obtained by simultaneous application of three of the clutches.

Automatic transmission

An automatic transmission including a double pinion planetary gear unit PG, two single pinion planetary gear units PGand PGand six frictional elements (viz., six clutches) Cto Cis so constructed as to establish nine forward speeds and one reverse speed by simultaneously putting selected three of the six frictional elements Cto Cinto their engaged condition. The frictional elements Cto Care of a type including mutually rotatable friction plates that cause production of an oil dragging resistance when the frictional element is under idling condition. With the simultaneously engaged condition of the three frictional elements, each speed is established with a reduced friction loss of the automatic transmission.

Low friction loss automatic transmission

An automatic transmission comprising: a first planetary gearset of a double pinion; a second planetary gearset of a single pinion; a third planetary gearset of the single pinion, first sun gear and second sun gear being at all times linked together to constitute a first rotary member and second ring gear and third sun gear being at all times linked together to constitute a second rotary member; an input shaft; an output shaft; a first frictional element; a second frictional element; a third frictional element; a fourth frictional element; a fifth frictional element; a sixth frictional element, the six frictional elements being appropriately released or engaged to make a gear shift to a gear shift stage of at least eight forward speeds and, from among the six frictional elements, a combination of simultaneous engagements of three frictional elements achieving at least eight forward speed and one reverse speed.

An automatic transmission includes first to third single-pinion planetary gearsets. The second ring gear and third sun gear are coupled to the first carrier and first ring gear respectively to constitute first and second rotor units. Input and output shafts are coupled to the second sun gear and third ring gear respectively. A first clutch selectively holds the first sun gear to the third carrier. A first brake selectively holds the first sun gear stationary. A second clutch selectively holds the second sun gear to the third carrier. A third clutch selectively holds the second carrier to the second rotor unit. A fourth clutch selectively holds the second carrier to the third carrier. A second brake selectively holds the first rotor unit stationary. At least eight gear ratios and one reverse gear ratio are obtained by simultaneous application of three of the clutches and brakes.

An automatic transmission includes a single-pinion first planetary gear mechanism including a first sun gear, a first ring gear, and a first carrier that each correspond to one of first to third elements in a velocity diagram. A double-pinion second planetary gear mechanism includes a second sun gear, a second ring gear, and a second carrier that each correspond to one of fourth to sixth elements in a velocity diagram. The fifth element is connected to the second element to form a first connected body that is connected to an input shaft. A single-pinion third planetary gear mechanism includes a third sun gear, a third ring gear, and a third carrier that each correspond to one of seventh to ninth elements in a velocity diagram. The eighth element is connected to an output member, and the ninth element is connected to the third element to form a second connected body.

An automatic transmission includes a first single-pinion planetary gear mechanism including a first sun gear, a first ring gear, and a first carrier that each correspond to one of first to third elements in a velocity diagram. The second element is connected to the input shaft. A second single-pinion planetary gear mechanism including a second sun gear, a second ring gear, and a second carrier that each correspond to one of fourth to sixth elements in a velocity diagram. The fourth element is connected to the first element to form a first connected body. A double-pinion third planetary gear mechanism includes a third sun gear, a third ring gear, and a third carrier that each correspond to one of seventh to ninth elements in a velocity diagram. The eighth element is connected to the fifth element to form a second connected body that is connected to the output member.

An automatic transmission includes a first single-pinion planetary gear mechanism including a first sun gear, a first ring gear, and a first carrier that respectively correspond to first to third elements in a velocity diagram. A second single-pinion planetary gear mechanism includes a second sun gear, a second ring gear, and a second carrier that respectively correspond to fourth to sixth elements in a velocity diagram. The fourth element is connected to the first element to form a first connected body. A double-pinion third planetary gear mechanism includes a third sun gear, a third ring gear, and a third carrier that respectively correspond to seventh to ninth elements in a velocity diagram. The ninth element is connected to the third element to form a second connected body. The eighth element is connected to the fifth element to form a third connected body.
