A wheel drive module () is provided that has a wheel () and a transmission, wherein the transmission comprises a first and a second drive gear ring () which are arranged such that they can rotate about a common rotation axis (R). The wheel () can be steered and driven by a respective rotation of the first drive gear ring () and the second drive gear ring (). A wheel-receiving space () extending along the axis of rotation (R) is defined between the first drive gear ring () and the second drive gear ring (), in which the wheel () is arranged at least sectionally.

A wheel drive module comprises wheel (R), speed modulation gearbox (G), first electric motor (M), and second electric motor (M). First and second electric motors (M, M) jointly drive wheel (R) about wheel axis (A) by the speed modulation gearbox (G) and steer said wheel about steering axis (L). Wheel drive module comprises first motor electronics () for controlling first electric motor (M) and second motor electronics () for controlling second electric motor (M) and central electronics () connected to first and second motor electronics (), allowing a signal transfer. Wheel drive module comprises control logic for controlling first and second electric motors (M, M), which logic is provided by first and second motor electronics (), central electronics (), application electronics () connected to the central electronics (), allowing a signal transfer, or jointly by the central electronics () and the first and second motor electronics ().

Wheel drive module of modular construction

A wheel drive module () is provided for driving and steering a wheel (), comprising the wheel (), a first drive motor (), a second drive motor (), and a transmission. The wheel () can be driven and steered simultaneously by the first drive motor () and the second drive motor () via the transmission, wherein a first motor shaft () for driving the transmission extends from the first drive motor () in a first motor shaft direction ('), a second motor shaft () for driving the transmission extends from the second drive motor () in a second motor shaft direction (&#x2032;), the first motor shaft direction (&#x2032;) and the second motor shaft direction (&#x2032;) are opposite each other, and the first drive motor () and the second drive motor () extend parallel to the first and second motor shaft directions (&#x2032;) over a common overlap section (&#xdc;).

Wheel drive module for driving and steering a wheel

An electric motor has a stator () as well as a rotor () rotatable about a rotation axis () and a sensor magnet () having an even number of sensor poles (). The sensor magnet () is configured to generate a magnetic flux having a magnetic flux density that changes sinusoidally with respect to the rotation angle. Two analog rotor position sensors () are arranged on a support structure () at a distance from one another such that, during operation, they generate two sinusoidal signals (B_S, B_S) having a phase shift of 90&#xb0; to each other. A signal generator () serves to generate at least one pulse-shaped signal (A, B) from the two sinusoidal rotor position signals (B_S, B_S) that are phase-shifted by 90&#xb0;. The instantaneous rotation speed can be accurately determined from this pulse-shaped signal.

Electric motor

An electric motor has a stator () having a bearing tube () made of a magnetically transparent material; it also has a rotor () having a rotor shaft () that is at least partially journaled in the bearing tube (), and has a ring magnet () that is fixedly arranged on the rotor shaft () inside the bearing tube (). Two magnetic-field-dependent analog sensors (&#x2033;) are arranged on a circuit board () outside the bearing tube (), at an angular distance (PHI) from one another, in order to generate rotor position signals as a function of the rotational position of the ring magnet (). A corresponding device () that serves to control the motor is provided, in order to process these rotor position signals into a signal that indicates the absolute rotational position of the rotor ().
