A radiological system includes an image pick-up chain which includes an image processor having at an N-output, at which images having a number of lines which is standard, and an H-output for an H-image having a higher number of lines than the standard image. A video recorder is connectable to the N-output, an H-image playback unit is connectable to the H-output. The video recorder is in the image transmission chain, and has an output connected through an up-scan standards converter to a switch, by means of which the H-image playback unit can be connected to an output of the up-scan standards converter.

An x-ray diagnostics installation has an x-ray image intensifier video chain which includes a semiconductor detector composed of pixels arranged in a matrix, serving as the video pick-up and a detector for identifying the average image brightness at the output luminescence screen of the x-ray image intensifier within a predetermined image region. A first read-out circuit is provided for pixels of a first group in the image, which is operated with a read-out clock at a first frequency, and a second read-out circuit is provided for pixels of a second group distributed over the area of the semiconductor detector, which is operated with a read-out clock at a second frequency. The second frequency is higher than the first frequency. The output signals of the pixels of the second group are supplied to an evaluation circuit, and the output signals of the first group of pixels are supplied to the video chain. Image production parameters, such as image brightness, can be controlled on the basis of the output signals of the second group of pixels.

X-ray diagnostics installation

A radiological system, wherein x-ray images (radiation images) are produced and are converted, through a video chain, for display as a video image, the system having a modulation transfer function, has the capability of influencing the modulation transfer function dependent on ambient light which is present at the display. To that end, a control unit is provided which provides two-dimensional control of the modulation transfer function dependent on illumination which is present in the environment of the display. The control is effected by means of a two-dimensional spatial frequency filter.

A telerecording system for producing x-ray images, having an x-ray image intensifier video chain which includes a semiconductor image converter, has a detector which recognizes blooming in the semiconductor image converter and which given blooming, causes at least two x-ray images of different brightness to be acquired by the semiconductor image converter. One of the images is exposed attenuated in comparison to the other so that no blooming ensues. Image signals from the two x-ray images are then superimposed in a mixer unit and the resulting image is displayed.

In a radiological installation comprising an image pick-up system having a memory for individual images and having an image playback unit, an overall image formed of at least two individual images is capable of being portrayed, the number of lines thereof being at least largely independent of the sum of the number of lines of the individual images. For that purpose, the overall image is compiled line-by-line with a processor controller such that respectively one row of stored picture elements of an individual image forms a section of one line of the overall image, and a corresponding row of stored picture elements of at least one further individual image respectively adjoins this section.

A video processing system, of the type used for portraying x-ray images, has a filter circuit with a spatial-frequency high-pass filter characteristic, the filter circuit including an amplitude-dependent separating filter having outputs to which respective spatial-frequency high-pass filters having different limit frequencies and/or having different kernel sizes are connected. The spatial-frequency high-pass filters are connected to the output of the overall filter circuit through an addition unit, so that the respective outputs of the spatial-frequency high-pass filters can be combined in different amounts to form the output of the overall filter circuit.

An x-ray diagnostics installation has a primary radiation diaphragm disposed in the beam path of an x-ray tube, with the x-rays attenuated by an examination subject being processed through an image intensifier video chain, which includes an image memory. The primary radiation diaphragm is provided with sensors which generate an electrical signal corresponding to the position of the individual diaphragm components of the primary radiation diaphragm, these signals being supplied to a processing stage in the image intensifier video chain. The processing stage acts on the data stored in the image memory so that the effect of the diaphragm can be simulated, and included in the displayed image. The processing stage includes a control computer connected to the sensors, and a simulation circuit for simulating the effect of the primary radiation diaphragm.

An x-ray diagnostics installation has an x-ray tube and an image processing and display system which includes a video camera connected to the x-ray image intensifier, an image memory, a spatial frequency filter and a monitor. A motion detector is connected to the image memory and to the video camera and controls operation of the spatial frequency filter to vary the filter effect so that the filter effect is greater in transillumination image regions having little motion than in regions having a higher amount of motion.

X-ray diagnostic apparatus is disclosed which includes a video camera; at least one image memory (12); one subtraction stage (13) for producing subtraction images by forming the difference from a stored video signal and a video signal chronologically following the stored video signal; an evaluation circuit (14 to 21) for evaluating the time of the difference signal; and a color video monitor (7). The evaluation circuit (14 to 21) contains a time stage (15) and a color converter (14). The color converter (14) is directly coupled to the subtraction stage (13) and converts the subtraction image into a black and white (monochrome) intensity image whose image color is controlled by the time stage (15) in dependence upon the chronological occurrence of the subtraction image. The color converter (14) has one output for each of the primary colors (red, green, blue). One memory (16 to 18) is coupled to each of these outputs for the storing of the output signals of the color converter (14) by summation.

X-ray diagnostic apparatus

An X-ray diagnostics installation with spatial frequency high-pass filtering has an X-ray tube, in image intensifier video chain, first and second image memories, and a difference stage for subtracting images in the memories and thereby forming a difference signal between first video signals and chronologically succeeding second video signals. The resulting image is displayed on a monitor. The installation further has a control unit for controlling the size of the tube focus. A video signal for an X-ray exposure produced using a first size of the tube focus is entered into one of the memories, and this signal is subtracted in the difference stage from a video signal for an X-ray exposure produced with a second size of the tube focus.

An x-ray diagnostic installation has a video display system connected to the output of an x-ray image intensifier, the video system including a subtraction stage with a weighting circuit connected to an image memory for suppressing image noise the subtraction stage also having a difference forming element for subtracting image information arising at different times. The output of the difference forming stage is supplied to a threshold circuit and the output of the threshold circuit is read into another image memory picture element-by-picture element. This memory is connected to the weighting circuit such that the output thereof controls the parameters of the weighting circuit picture element-by-picture element. A filter circuit may be interconnected between the output of this memory and the weighting circuit.

X-ray diagnostic installation with subtraction stage

For angiographic X-ray examinations with an image intensifier-television installation, three image memories are connected to a control generator which in respective clock pulse intervals cyclically places a respective one of the image memories in the write state for the purpose of storage of a current video signal which is averaged over several images. A subtraction device for the subtraction of image data occurring at various times receives the current video signal and the output signal of the one image memory in the write state. Connected to the subtraction device is a maximum detector which recognizes the maximum of the contrast medium flow and in response thereto actuates the control generator to cause the image memory which was last in the write state, and the image memory with the chronologically oldest video signal to be switched to the read state and to produce a difference signal for display on a video display based on the readout from such image memories.

X-ray diagnostic installation

The invention relates to a radiodiagnostic system with an x-ray tube, flat picture intensifier, a coupled television camera system, a central unit and a monitor, wherein an image storage panel is connected to the television camera system and to the monitor and is coupled by its clock input with the central unit. At the central unit setting means are provided which act on the central unit in such a way that the vertical-to-horizontal frequency ratio of the television camera system is reduced by a factor N, the ratio of the image element clock frequency of the image storage panel to the horizontal frequency is increased by the same factor N, and the read-in process into the image storage panel is delayable in row and/or column direction, so that only a selectable image detail is displayable on the monitor.

Radiodiagnostic system with a flat picture intensifier

A device for taking pictures with a monitor, a lens, a mirror that can be moved within the path of the rays of the monitor and a film camera located in one of the ray paths that can be selected by the mirror. A transparent holder for a sheet film is attached to the housing and located in the other path. A photo-electric converter, positioned on this holder, follows the path of the rays. By means of the control switch, the monitor can be controlled so that a light dot is generated on the screen of the monitor and reproduced on the sheet film.

An exemplary embodiment comprises an image intensifier television chain, a subtraction device which has at least one image memory and a difference stage for providing subtraction images through difference formation from the stored video signals and chronologically displaced video signals, and a monitor.
