One or more example embodiments relates to a method for generating X-ray radiation having an X-ray characteristic, the method comprising providing a first type of examination information and a second type of examination information for selection; receiving the selected type of examination information in a controller; selecting an X-ray emitter configuration from a plurality of X-ray emitter configurations as a function of the received type of examination information via the controller; determining a control signal as a function of the selected X-ray emitter configuration; automatically adjusting a mechanical adjuster of the X-ray emitter according to the determined control signal to change an orientation of the X-ray emitter in relation to the recording area; and generating X-ray radiation with the X-ray characteristic via the X-ray emitter set for fluoroscopy of the examination object in the recording area.

An x-ray system includes an x-ray source which, when in operation, generates x-rays at a plurality of x-ray focal spots, with a collimator allocated in each case to each x-ray focal spot. The collimator selects x-rays generated in the respective x-ray focal spot and directed onto a common detector, collimators being in a fixed position in relation to the respective allocated x-ray focal spots. The x-ray source is embodied as an x-ray tube with at least one anode including the x-ray focal spots and with a plurality of cathodes. Or the x-ray source includes a plurality of x-ray tubes, the anodes whereof include the x-ray focal spots. The collimators are arranged in the respective x-ray tube, and the collimators are arranged on the respective anode. A method is further for operating such an x-ray system.

X-ray system and method for operation thereof

One or more example embodiments relates to a cathode device and an X-ray source. The cathode device for an X-ray source has an electron emitter including a plurality of field effect emitter elements aligned in parallel to form an emission surface on the upper side of the plurality of field effect emitter elements aligned in parallel a gate electrode, arranged above the emission surface, a multiple first contact elements for at least two independently current-carrying current paths of the electron emitter, electrons from at least one of the current paths are emittable depending on an emission voltage between the gate electrode and the emission surface via the field effect emitter elements; and an emitter seat including multiple second contact elements, the multiple second contact elements connectable with the multiple first contact elements for closing the current paths.

A method for reducing electron emission of an electron emitter comprises: emitting electrons from a first current path via at least one first field effect emitter element, subject to an emission voltage between a gate electrode and an emission surface; determining a property of the first current path; and activating a first current limiting unit subject to the properties of the first current path to reduce the electron emission of the electron emitter.

A multitube X-ray emitter housing according to the invention includes a housing, a high-voltage supply and a cooling device with an electrically insulating cooling medium. The high-voltage supply has a plurality of high-voltage contacts connected in parallel on a single high-voltage supply lead. A first of at least one side surface of the housing has a first electrically conductive housing portion with a temperature-dependent electrical conductivity. The multitube X-ray emitter housing further includes: a control unit having an interface to receive a measured value representing the electrical conductivity of the first electrically conductive housing portion and to compare the measured value with a threshold value; and a switching device to switch off the high voltage based on the comparison.

At least one example embodiment provides an electron emitter apparatus having a first ring of field-effect emitter needles, the field-effect emitter needles of the first ring forming a first emitter surface on an inner side of the first ring; and a second ring of field-effect emitter needles, the field-effect emitter needles of the second ring forming a second emitter surface on an inner side of the second ring, wherein the first ring and the second ring are arranged in such that the first emitter surface and the second emitter surface form a substantially contiguous three-dimensional overall emitter surface, the substantially contiguous three-dimensional overall emitter surface defining a hollow channel along a longitudinal axis of the electron emitter apparatus.

Electron emitter apparatus

An X-ray tube of an embodiment includes an anode; and an electron emission device. In an embodiment, the electron emission device includes at least one electron emitter including at least one emission surface and at least one barrier grid, the at least one barrier grid being spaced apart from the at least one emission surface of the electron emitter and includes a definable number of individually controllable grid segments. According to an embodiment, at least one individually definable grid voltage is applicable to each of the grid segments. In a simple manner, an electron-emission device of an embodiment permits the image quality to be adjusted with minimal anode loading.

An x-ray tube includes an electron emitter to emit an electron beam; and a multilayer anode including a first anode layer facing the electron beam and a second anode layer facing away from the electron beam. The first anode layer includes a first anode material to generate a braking radiation via the electron beam and the second anode layer includes a second anode material to generate a further x-ray radiation via the braking radiation. The further x-ray radiation is relatively more monochromatic than the braking radiation and wherein the first anode layer and the second anode layer adjoin in a planar manner.

X-ray tube

An X-ray device for an inverse computer tomography configuration, includes a plurality of X-ray emitters and a detector arranged opposite the X-ray emitters. The X-rays emitted by the X-ray emitters can be detected by the detector after at least partly passing through an examination region located in the intermediate region between the X-ray emitters and the detector. In an embodiment, the X-ray emitters are grouped into at least two mutually spaced sub-arrangements. Each sub-arrangement comprises multiple X-ray emitters. The spacing between the at least two sub-arrangements is greater than the spacing between adjacent X-ray emitters of at least one of the sub-arrangements.

X-ray device for inverse computer tomography

An anode has a base member, on which an X-ray active layer is applied. A first cooling circuit with a first cooling medium extends at least in part in the base member beneath the X-ray active layer. A second cooling circuit with a second cooling medium is arranged beneath the first cooling circuit. The anode exhibits distinctly improved thermo mechanical properties.

A method is disclosed for moving a robot arm for an ultrasound examination, an ultrasound probe being attached to the robot arm. An associated ultrasound system is also disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes providing a trained artificial neural network recording a medical issue; determining a motion dataset containing a motion sequence of the robot arm by applying the trained artificial neural network to the medical issue; transferring the motion dataset to a controller of the robot arm; and moving the robot arm in accordance with the motion sequence of the motion dataset. An associated second computing unit, and an associated computer program product are also disclosed.

An x-ray apparatus includes an x-ray emitter having an x-ray tube, a rotary anode disposed in the x-ray tube, and a drive for the rotary anode. The drive includes a reluctance motor having a stator disposed outside the x-ray tube and a rotor disposed inside the x-ray tube. The rotor is mechanically connected to the rotary anode.

X-ray apparatus

A rotary anode for an X-ray tube includes a ceramic base body that carries a focal path for emitting X-rays during electron irradiation. The ceramic base body is made of a mixture of silicon carbide and at least one high temperature-resistant diboride.

A computed tomography system has a gantry with a rotor side that can be rotated around a system axis during operation, at which at least one x-ray tube is mounted. To cool the at least one x-ray tube a liquid cooling system is equipped with a fluid volume filled with cooling liquid, the fluid volume extends over distances of different sizes from the system axis. The fluid volume is located on the rotor of the gantry and thus is exposed to centrifugal force during operation. To increase pressure in the cooling system, a flexible compensation volume and a movable mass element that rotate with the gantry are provided. The mass element is arranged such that the centrifugal force acting on the mass element during operation causes pressure to be exerted on the cooling liquid.

In a method for applying an electron absorber layer to a substrate, an electron absorber layer is produced from a composite material, by coating the substrate with a metallic material, and material inclusions made from an additional material are embedded in the metallic material during coating. The metallic material contains aluminum, magnesium, cobalt, iron, chromium, titanium, nickel, copper, or an alloy or mixture thereof. The additional material contains one or more of the following substances: boron, carbon or silicon, a mixture of these elements, one or more chemical compounds made from or having at least two of these elements, or a mixture of such chemical compounds.
