A connector arrangement connects the contacts of a stack of terminal blocks, including a first conductive bridge extending longitudinally of a given terminal block for selectively connecting together the contacts thereof, and a second laterally-extending conductive bridge for connecting together corresponding contacts of various selected terminal blocks of the stack. The terminal blocks are mounted in parallel vertical orientation on an orthogonally arranged horizontal mounting rail. Vertical branch lines extend upwardly from a plurality of horizontal vertically-spaced bus bar members contained in each of the terminal blocks, and intermediate branch lines connected with the upper ends of the vertical branch lines contain offset tiered first and second contact areas. Resilient fingers on the longitudinal and lateral conductive bridges extend into and electrically engage openings contained in the first and second contact areas, respectively.

Stacked terminal block arrangement with connector means

A connector arrangement includes a universal terminal block having a body containing a chamber in which is removably mounted one of a plurality of function control modules as used in commercial, industrial and residential installations, wherein a pair of module contacts on the module are brought into electrical engagement with a pair of stationary contacts mounted in the chamber, thereby to connect the module to a pair of external insulated conductors via bus bars and terminals contained in the terminal block body. Various types of function control modules may be used with a single universal terminal block. The modules may include locking devices for locking the module to the universal terminal block. The terminal block includes mounting feet on the side thereof remote from the chamber, whereby selective modules may be substituted for one another when the terminal block is mounted on a support rail.

A terminal block assembly includes an electrical terminal having a first stationary contact provided with insulation-piercing knife edges, and a second contact arrangement for connecting the terminal to a corresponding terminal on an adjacent terminal block assembly, the second contact arrangement including a male connector and a female jack connector that are arranged in opposite directions transversely of the terminal block body, thereby to afford connection with the corresponding terminal of an adjacent terminal block assembly mounted on a common support rail with the terminal block assembly.

A conductor connector assembly for connecting a ground conductor or the like to a U-shaped top hat rail, including a first sheet metal member (1) arranged for seated engagement transversely across the outwardly directed flange portions at the free ends of the legs of the top hat rail, a second sheet metal member (2) adjacent the first member and including at each end a hook portion (16) adapted to extend below the associated flange portion, and a screw device (3) for displacing the second member upwardly relative to the first member, thereby to clamp the rail flange portions between the first and second sheet metal members. A guide arrangement is provided for guiding the members for vertical movement relative to each other.
