To provide an improved guiding of visually impaired passengers on-board a vehicle, a vehicle guidance system for guiding visually impaired passengers on-board a vehicle includes an interior space on-board the vehicle with at least one cabin zone at least one movement area and at least one seating zone located in the cabin interior space, and at least one guiding handrail. The guiding handrail is mounted at least along a part of the cabin zone in the vicinity of the movement area. The guiding handrail is a tactile guide, along which a passenger can be guided for movement within the cabin zone by a touching contact with the guiding handrail. The guiding handrail is provided with visually highlighted information and manually touchable information, both related to cabin information. The guiding handrail is mounted above the seating zone, and within reach of a passenger present in the adjacent movement area.

A toilet system for a lavatory of a vehicle comprises a toilet bowl, a cladding assembly for cladding the toilet bowl, forming a hollow space between the toilet bowl and cladding assembly, and a ventilation device with at least one suction line for extracting air. The cladding assembly extends from an exterior side of the toilet bowl over an edge of the toilet bowl, and thereby partially encases the edge. A passenger seat system includes a backrest and a seat, which has a first sub-portion having a first surface and a second, opposite surface to the first surface as well as a second sub-portion having a first surface and a second, opposite surface to the first surface. The sub-portions are relatively movable in order to provide first and second operating positions. In the first operating position the sub-portions are positioned in relation to the backrest one behind the other such that the first surface of the first sub-portion and the first surface of the second sub-portion form a usable total seat surface. In the second operating position the sub-portions are positioned in relation to the backrest one above the other such that one of the surfaces of the first sub-portion or the first surface of the second sub-portion forms a usable partial seat surface.

Passenger seat system

A computer implemented fuel management method and system for monitoring and minimizing a fuel consumption of an aircraft. The fuel management system and method determines, on the basis of model assumptions, a theoretical value relating to the quantity of fuel that is necessary for travelling along at least one sector of a flight route. Furthermore, the fuel management system and method determine a practical value relating to a quantity of fuel that is necessary for travelling along the same sector of the flight route, taking into account actual measured values. Moreover, the system and method compare the theoretical value with the practical value and to provide at least one measure in order to save fuel during a flight when the practical value differs from the theoretical value by a predeterminable amount.

Fuel management system

The invention pertains to an inerting system for an aircraft featuring at least one air separation module with at least one air inlet, a first air outlet and a second air outlet. The air separation module is designed for splitting an input air flow into a first air flow and a second air flow, wherein the first air flow is enriched with oxygen in comparison with the input air flow and discharged at the first air outlet and the second air flow is enriched with nitrogen in comparison with the input air flow and discharged at the second air outlet. In comparison with known inerting systems, the inerting system according to the invention is characterized in that the air inlet can be connected to an air extraction point in an air processing system and the inerting system is designed for routing the first air flow into a cabin to be air-conditioned.

Inerting system for an aircraft

An aircraft having a seating arrangement comprising with a plurality of seats arranged in-line in the fore and aft direction of the aircraft. In a first configuration, the seats are arranged so that the in-line spacing between seats is smaller than the height of a backrest of a seat. At least one of the seats can be reconfigured into a second configuration in which with the aid of the seat a bedded patient care area is made available. The bedded patient care area can be made use of, for example, to bed a person flat having suddenly become ill during the flight. The cabin seating can be configured in making optimum use of available space, requiring just one or two seats to be reconfigured when needed to create a bedded patient care area.
