A system includes at least one electronic control unit, which performs a method including consecutively or simultaneously, determining a future turning maneuver of the ego vehicle, detecting information relating to the lane markings and the number of available lanes in the environment in front of and next to the ego vehicle, and determining whether at least one further road user is in a relevant lane next to or behind the lane of the ego vehicle. If so, a future intended movement of the road user is determined from the information relating to the lane markings and the number of available lanes. And if it is determined that the ego-vehicle and the road user are on an at least two-lane turning lane, or that the road user stops before the turning maneuver of the ego-vehicle or leaves its lane, it is determined that there is no probability of a collision.

A method for reminding a driver of a motor vehicle to start at a light signal device, includes the following steps: detecting a light signal of a light signal device by evaluating an image data set; detecting the stationary state of the motor vehicle according to the motor vehicle operating parameters; producing a stop signal when the detected light signal is a stop light signal and when the motor vehicle is stationary; in the presence of the stop signal, generating a start signal when a switch to a drive light signal is detected by evaluating an additional image data set, and transferring the start signal via an interface to an output device.

Method and device for reminding a driver to start at a light signal device with variable output function

A method reminds a driver of a motor vehicle about an approach to a light signal apparatus. The method detects a plurality of light signal apparatuses, selects from the plurality of light signal apparatuses in order to select that one which is relevant to a direction of travel of the motor vehicle to determine an assignment of the detected light signal to the motor vehicle, and determines whether the detected light signal from the selected light signal apparatus is a stop light signal. The method generates a stop signal if a stop light signal is detected when the motor vehicle is at a standstill. When a stop signal is present, the method determines a reliability value depending on the at least one operating variable of the motor vehicle for the selection of the light signal apparatus, generates a confirmation signal verifying the selection, depending on the reliability value, and outputs the confirmation signal in order to inform the driver about a verified selection, and generates a starting signal reminding the driver to start, depending on the reliability value, when a changeover on a traffic light signal is detected.

Method and device for reminding a driver about an approach to a light signal apparatus

A diagnostic method is provided for a vision sensor of a vehicle. The diagnostic method includes the steps of: determining a first position and a direction of movement of the vehicle; selecting a stationary landmark suitable for being detected by the vision sensor from a landmark database, wherein the landmark is located in front of the vehicle in the direction of movement of the vehicle, wherein a distance from the first position of the vehicle to the landmark is greater than the target range of the vision sensor; detecting the landmark via the vision sensor and, in response to a successful detection of the landmark by the vision sensor; determining a second position of the vehicle; determining an actual range of the vision sensor as the distance between the second position of the vehicle and the landmark.
