The present disclosure generally relates to the field of pest elimination including all life stages of bed bugs. The present disclosure includes articles, systems, and methods of heat treatment to target and kill pests.

Heat system for killing pests

A pest detection device including a capacitive sensor having a plurality of traces that can be capacitively sensed using self-capacitance or mutual capacitance measurements. The sensor including conductive shield traces to facilitate a number of sensing applications. The sensor including a coated portion to facilitate crawling of pests over the sensing area of the circuit board.

The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for inhibiting degradation of dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS) in solution. Concentrate compositions include DMTS and polar inorganic or organic solvent. The compositions can be stored in containers for at least 2 weeks at 54&#xb0; C. or at least one year at room temperature and less than 50% of the DMTS degrades. The concentrate compositions can be diluted for use and combined with other components to form various solutions.

Methods and compositions for preventing degradation of dimethyl trisulfide

A system and method for treating items suspected of insect infestation is described. The items are placed in a treatment space inside a treatment container together with a composition comprising one or more volatile components with insecticidal activity. The composition is applied to an absorbent material capable of containing the composition in a treatment amount; and the absorbent material and the composition are enclosed in a diffuser container with perforations covering about 1 to 30% of a surface area of the walls that allow diffusion of the one or more volatile components into the treatment space.

The present disclosure provides for a composition and method for attracting bed bugs to a trap or to a location where an insecticide or pesticide is present, or to a trap or a location where a bed bug infestation can be detected. The present invention relates to a method of pre-rinsing laundry and treating other surfaces employing a composition that can kill bedbug eggs. The composition includes an anionic compound and is at pH just above neutral, e.g., about 7 to about 9.

A trapping device and method for capturing and monitoring the existence and behavior of crawling insects, such as bed bugs, is provided. The trapping device has a textured two-dimensional surface with one or more triangular entrance areas, where one of the triangular sections functions as a base, one or more wing sections, connected to either one the base or to another wing section by a neck; and a collecting area connected to one or more wing sections by a bridge. The trapping device can further include a support structure, and can be enclosed in a case with one or more entrances. The trapping device can also comprise a catching area that can optionally include an adhesive for immobilizing the insects.
