A telecommunications cable management system includes a planar base element including a planar top surface and side edges. Side elements are mounted with a mating arrangement to the base element. The side elements may include one or more of the following: upstanding wall portions, side exits extending horizontally, and downspouts. The base elements and the upstanding wall portions may have a continuous cross-section, and can be cut to the desired length for the cable management system. The downspout and side exit elements may also include multiple components wherein a central section of each can be cut to the desired width.

A cable trough cover assembly and method of assembly including a cover plate and a hinge piece. The cover plate includes a pivot member along at least one edge, and the hinge piece defines a pocket for releasably receiving the pivot member. The pocket and pivot member arrangement allow the cover plate to be rotated relative to a cable trough to which the hinge pieces may be mounted.

A cable guiding fin for managing cable in a cable management system. The fin includes a base and an upstanding wall with a convex surface. The upstanding wall may be tilted at an angle relative to the base and may define a plurality of tie-down apertures. The base may include an adhesive or fastener holes to secure the base to a surface of the cable management system.

Cable trough with separate side elements

A coupling and assembly for a cable routing system, the system having trough members with flanged ends. The coupling includes a U-shaped rib having a rail on an exterior surface of the rib. The coupling also includes a pivoting clamp pivotally coupled to the rib near a first end of the clamp so that the clamp may be pivoted between an open and a closed position. The clamp has a contoured clamping surface which is contoured to retain the flanged ends of adjacent troughs against the rail and the external surface of the rib when the pivoting clamp is in the closed position. The clamp also includes retention means which cooperate with retention means on the rib to releasably retain the clamp in its closed position.

A flow switch for a high pressure washing system or other flow-related system is disclosed. The flow switch switches from an open to a closed position in the presence of adequate flow in a water or other fluid-carrying pipe. The flow switch includes a cartridge body, a sensor, a plunger, a magnet, and a spring. The cartridge body has an inlet port and an outlet port which allows fluid to flow into the cartridge body, through a flow chamber, and out of the cartridge body. The cartridge body also has a sensor chamber for accommodating the sensor. The sensor is positioned within the sensor chamber and is used to determine whether fluid is flowing through the flow chamber. A plunger is positioned within the flow chamber, and is responsive to fluid flow. Between the plunger and the sensor is a spring. The spring prevents the plunger from coming in close proximity to the sensor absent fluid flow. However, when there is fluid flow, the spring is compressed and the plunger comes in close proximity to the sensor and communicates with the sensor to allow the sensor to determine that fluid is flowing through the flow chamber. The flow switch can also include a housing, which accommodates the cartridge, sensor, plunger, and spring.

An air valve having a runaway control feature, including a movable piston which is insertable into air blocking position in a valve passage, a diaphragm separating two chambers, one chamber being coupled to the air passage upstream of the movable piston and the other chamber coupled to the air passage downstream of the movable piston, a rod movable by the diaphragm to activate a second air valve, the second air valve controlling the flow of air from the air passage upstream of the piston valve to the piston valve itself, thereby forcing the piston valve to move into air closure position in the passageway when the pressure drop upstream and downstream of the piston valve exceed predetermined limits. The invention includes a test feature which includes a third valve for manually unbalancing the air pressure across the diaphragm chambers to simulate the runaway air flow condition and thereby actuate the piston valve closure.
