Embodiments of the invention disclose methods, apparatuses, systems, and computer-readable media for taking and sharing pictures of objects of interest at an event or an occasion. A device implementing embodiments of the invention may enable a user to select objects of interest from a view displayed by a display unit coupled to the device. The device may also have pre-programmed objects including objects that the device detects. In addition, the device may detect people using the users' social networks by retrieving images from social networks like Facebook&#xae; and LinkedIn&#xae;.

A user interface transition between a camera view and a map view displayed on a mobile platform is provided so as present a clear visual connection between the orientation in the camera view and the orientation in the map view. The user interface transition may be in response to a request to change from the camera view to the map view or vice-versa. Augmentation overlays for the camera view and map view may be produced based on, e.g., the line of sight of the camera or identifiable environmental characteristics visible in the camera view and the map view. One or more different augmentation overlays are also produced and displayed to provide the visual connection between the camera view and map view augmentation overlays. For example, a plurality of augmentation overlays may be displayed consecutively to clearly illustrate the changes between the camera view and map view augmentation overlays.

In an embodiment, a method comprises detecting, by a parent device, an initiating non-touch gesture performed by a user towards the parent device. And the method further comprises completing the action upon a positive gesture recognition by the one or more secondary devices.

The systems and methods trim the content for projection based on one or more characteristics of the projection target, including a shape, outline, and distance to the projection target. Moreover, the systems and methods designate void areas where no content will be projected based on the one or more characteristics, and the void areas will be generated or otherwise projected along with the content so that the content is projected onto the projection target and the void areas are projected outside of the projection target such that the projected content does not significantly spill onto surfaces or objects outside of the projection target.

When it is determined that a time stamp of a gesture approximately matches a time stamp of a word, the word may be processed to have an alternate meaning, such as a command, punctuation, or action.

Embodiments provide a user interface for computing devices equipped with a touchscreen user interface/display and a digital camera that enhances a portion of a displayed image within a user's gaze. A user may calibrate their mobile device by touching a portion of the touchscreen with one or more fingers and following a moving image on the display with their eyes. The mobile device may track where a user is looking, and if the user is looking at the mobile device display, a portion of the display in the vicinity of the user's gaze may be enhanced in size. In an embodiment, if the user is looking at a virtual keyboard, key icons near the user's gaze may be increased in size commensurate with the user's finger tip size. In this manner, a user can accurately select individual keys in a virtual keyboard that fits within a mobile device display.
