A vehicle mounting arrangement is provided for a vehicle having a sunroof with a sunroof drain tube and an inflatable airbag. The drain tube and the inflatable airbag are mounted to a vehicle roof rail of the vehicle. The vehicle mounting arrangement includes an inflatable airbag mounted to the vehicle roof rail. The inflatable airbag is expandable toward an interior side of the vehicle. A sunroof drain tube is pivotally mounted to the vehicle roof rail and positioned adjacent the inflatable airbag so that the drain tube is pivotally displaced upon expansion of the inflatable airbag.

Sunroof drain tube mounting arrangement

A tailgate assembly is adapted to be mounted along an open edge of a vehicle's load-carrying bed for alternatively pivoting about (1) a first axis generally parallel with the open edge of the tailgate for movement between a closed position and a fold-open position and (2) a second axis generally normal relative to the first axis for movement between the closed position and a swing-open position. The tailgate assembly includes a tailgate, a dual-mode hinge assembly, a first hinge/lock assembly and a second hinge/lock assembly. The first hinge/lock assembly is selectively latched to an associated first hinge/lock striker and cooperates with the dual-mode hinge assembly to pivotally support the tailgate about a first pivot axis. The second hinge/lock assembly is selectively latched to an associated second hinge/lock striker and cooperates with the dual-mode hinge assembly to pivotally support the tailgate about a second pivot axis. One of the first and second hinge/lock assemblies is mechanically prevented from unlatching from a respective one of the first and second hinge/lock strikers when the other of the first and second hinge/lock assemblies is unlatched from the other respective one of the first and second hinge/lock strikers.

Dual mode tailgate control system

A tailgate lift-assist assembly is provided for a tailgate mounted to a vehicle body. The tailgate is movable between a closed position and an open position. The tailgate lift-assist assembly includes a spring having a first spring end and a second spring end. The spring is attached to the tailgate at the first spring end. A stationary member is rotatably connected to the tailgate and nonrotatably connected to the vehicle body. A cable has a first cable end and a second cable end. The cable is attached to the spring second end at the first cable end and attached to the stationary member at a cable second end. The cable passes over a pulley that is rotatably mounted to the tailgate and applies a tension on the spring when the tailgate is moved toward the open position.

Tailgate lift-assist assembly

A latch system for securing a sliding window to a fixed member, the latch assembly including a latch housing, a catch housing, and a latch assembly. The latch assembly includes first and second latch arms and an actuator. The latch arms are pivotally secured to the latch housing and include first, actuated ends that are disposed within the latch housing and second, latching ends that are disposed outside of the latch housing and received by the catch housing. The actuator is slidably secured to the latch housing and operable to engage the latch arms' actuated ends so as to pivot the latching ends out of engagement with the catch housing and thereby permit the latch housing and the window associated therewith to move relative to the fixed member.
