Systems, devices, and methods including balloon catheters are described. In one embodiments, a balloon catheter assembly may comprise a tubular member having a proximal portion and a distal portion with a lumen extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion and a balloon member having a proximal waist portion, a distal waist portion, and an expandable region therebetween, the balloon member disposed proximate the distal portion of the tubular member and bonded to tubular member. The assembly may further comprise a first sleeve member covering a first portion of the tubular member and a portion of the balloon member proximal waist portion and a second sleeve member covering a second portion of the tubular member and a portion of the first sleeve member.

Balloon catheter

Expandable occlusive plugs and methods of using them are disclosed. The devices generally include an expandable framework at least partially covered by a membrane. The occlusive plugs can be used for occlusion of body lumens and/or to limit migration of embolic agents to non-target sites.

Systems and methods for vascular occlusion

Systems for nerve and tissue modulation are disclosed. An example system may include an intravascular nerve modulation system including an elongated shaft having a proximal end region and a distal end region. The system may further include one or more ablation electrodes affixed to the distal end region of the elongated shaft. One or more ground pad electrodes may be provided and connected to a processor configured to modulate the impedance of each circuit completed between the ablation electrodes and the ground pads.

Renal nerve modulation devices and methods

A catheter system comprising a guidewire and a support catheter is disclosed. The support catheter may comprise an elongate shaft having a proximal region, a distal region, and a lumen extending therebetween. The support catheter may further comprise a helical section extending distally from the distal region of the elongate shaft. The helical section may comprise a tubular member wound into a plurality of rings a lumen in communication with the lumen of the elongate shaft. The plurality of rings may each have an outer diameter. A minimum diameter of each of the outer diameters may be greater than an outer diameter of the elongate shaft.

Medical devices and methods for forming the medical devices are disclosed in the present application. In one illustrative example an occlusion balloon comprises an outer balloon member, and an inner balloon member having an inner wall and an outer wall and extending through at least a portion of the outer balloon member. In at least some examples, when forces acting on the inner wall of the inner balloon member equal forces acting on the outer wall of the inner balloon member, the inner balloon member defines a lumen.

Occlusion device

A medical device for sympathetic nerve ablation includes a catheter shaft and an expandable member disposed on the catheter shaft. The balloon is configured to be able to shift between an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration. The medical device includes an elongate electrode assembly constructed as a flexible circuit and a protective bumper member. The elongate electrode assembly may have an outer edge and may be disposed on an outer surface of the balloon. The protective bumper member may cover at least a portion of the outer edge of the elongate electrode assembly.

Nerve ablation devices and related methods of use and manufacture

The disclosure describes stent delivery systems and its related methods of use. A stent delivery system including an inner shaft with a stent disposed about the distal region, a deployment sheath slidably disposed about the inner shaft, a handle coupled to the deployment sheath, and an intermediate shaft disposed about the inner shaft, positioned proximally of the stent. Further, proximal portion of the intermediate shaft is disposed within the handle and includes a support member.

Stent delivery systems and methods for use

A renal nerve ablation device may include an elongate tubular member having a distal region. An expandable member may be coupled to the distal region. An electrode support may be coupled to the distal region of the elongate tubular member and extend over a body of the expandable member. The electrode support may be free of connection to the body of the expandable member. One or more electrodes may be coupled to the electrode support.

Renal denervation balloon catheter with ride along electrode support

A method of treating a constricted sinus passageway of a patient includes traversing the canine fossa region of the patient so as to form a passageway in the sinus cavity. A cannula is positioned in the passageway. A visualization tool such as an endoscope is passed through a lumen or channel in the cannula to aid in visualization of the anatomical site of interest. A balloon dilation catheter is then deployed through or along the cannula so as to place the balloon within or across the constricted anatomical space (e.g., ostium). The balloon is then expanded so as to expand at least a portion of the constricted anatomical space. Alternative embodiments include the use of an optional guide wire and incorporating a endoscope lumen through the balloon dilation catheter.

Apparatus and method for treatment of sinusitis

A handle for delivering a medical device comprises a housing having therein a wheel, a rack, and a catheter member. The wheel comprises a pinion gear that selectively engages gear teeth on the rack. The rack is selectively engaged and disengaged from the pinion gear in order to reduce the force necessary to manually pull the rack.

Handle for delivering medical device

A method for enhancing cerebral blood flow in a patient. The patient's baseline cerebral blood flow is measured. An artery of the patient is cooled or warmed to produce vasodilatation of the artery. The artery is typically one or more of the left or right common carotid artery, left or right internal carotid artery, left or right middle cerebral artery, anterior cerebral artery, left or right vertebral artery, or basilar artery. Vasodilatation enhances cerebral blood flow. The enhanced cerebral blood flow is measured after cooling or warming the artery. The enhanced cerebral blood flow is compared to the baseline cerebral blood flow. Cooling or warming is then adjusted as needed to achieve a desired enhancement in cerebral blood flow. Devices for cooling and warming are also described.

Regulation of cerebral blood flow by temperature change-induced vasodilatation

Methods are provided for cerebral perfusion augmentation in patients suffering from global or focal cerebral ischemia. Methods include partial or complete obstruction of the femoral or iliac arteries or the inferior vena cava, external compression of the iliac, femoral, or brachial arteries, placing the patient in a trendelenberg position, applying one or more compression members to the extremities, or removing portion(s) of cerebral spinal fluid. Partial obstruction of a vessel can be accomplished by a device comprising an elongate catheter and a distally mounted expandable member. The expandable member may comprise one or two balloons. Other medical devices, such as an angioplasty, stent, or atherectomy catheter, can be inserted distal the expandable member to provide additional therapeutic intervention.

Devices and methods for cerebral perfusion augmentation

Methods for making a loaded catheter assembly for delivering a self-expanding stent where the self-expanding stent is carried in a compressed state and the compressed stent has an inside diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the catheter distal tip. The methods can utilize catheter sub-assemblies lacking already attached tips or having partially formed distal tips. A stent can be proximally and co-axially slid over the distal end of the catheter shaft and constrained by a retractable sheath disposed co-axially about the compressed stent. The catheter distal tip can be added or more fully formed after the loading of the stent. Some catheters include a preformed distal conical tip held in position by a heat-shrink film. Other catheters have an elastomeric distal tip waist for slipping over and engaging an outward projection on the catheter shaft distal region. Some catheters are adapted to engage catheter shaft distal threaded regions.
