The present disclosure provides natural gas and petrochemical processing systems including oxidative coupling of methane reactor systems that integrate process inputs and outputs to cooperatively utilize different inputs and outputs of the various systems in the production of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas and other hydrocarbon feedstocks.

Oxidative coupling of methane methods and systems

The present disclosure provides natural gas and petrochemical processing systems, including oxidative coupling of methane reactor systems that may integrate process inputs and outputs to cooperatively utilize different inputs and outputs in the production of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas and other hydrocarbon feedstocks. The present disclosure also provides apparatuses and methods for heat exchange, such as an apparatus that can perform boiling and steam super-heating in separate chambers in order to reach a target outlet temperature that is relatively constant as the apparatus becomes fouled. A system of the present disclosure may include an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) subsystem that generates a product stream comprising compounds with two or more carbon atoms, and a dual compartment heat exchanger downstream of, and fluidically coupled to, the OCM subsystem.

Oxidative coupling of methane for olefin production

In an aspect, the present disclosure provides a method for the oxidative coupling of methane to generate hydrocarbon compounds containing at least two carbon atoms (Ccompounds). The method can include mixing a first gas stream comprising methane with a second gas stream comprising oxygen to form a third gas stream comprising methane and oxygen and performing an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reaction using the third gas stream to produce a product stream comprising one or more Ccompounds.

Catalytic forms and formulations

Integrated systems are provided for the production of higher hydrocarbon compositions, for example liquid hydrocarbon compositions, from methane using an oxidative coupling of methane system to convert methane to ethylene, followed by conversion of ethylene to selectable higher hydrocarbon products. The present disclosure provides oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) systems for small scale and world scale production of olefins. An OCM system may comprise an OCM subsystem that generates a product stream comprising Ccompounds and non-Cimpurities from methane and an oxidizing agent. At least one separations subsystem downstream of, and fluidically coupled to, the OCM subsystem can be used to separate the non-Cimpurities from the Ccompounds. A methanation subsystem downstream and fluidically coupled to the OCM subsystem can be used to react Hwith CO and/or COin the non-Cimpurities to generate methane, which can be recycled to the OCM subsystem. The OCM system can be integrated in a non-OCM system, such as a natural gas liquids system or an existing ethylene cracker.

Oxidative coupling of methane implementations for olefin production

The present disclosure provides a method for generating higher hydrocarbon(s) from a stream comprising compounds with two or more carbon atoms (C), comprising introducing methane and an oxidant (e.g., O) into an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reactor that has been retrofitted into a system comprising an ethylene-to-liquids (ETL) reactor. The OCM reactor reacts the methane with the oxidant to generate a first product stream comprising the Ccompounds. The first product stream can then be directed to a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit that recovers at least a portion of the Ccompounds from the first product stream to yield a second product stream comprising the at least the portion of the Ccompounds. The second product stream can then be directed to the ETL reactor. The higher hydrocarbon(s) can then be generated from the at least the portion of the Ccompounds in the ETL reactor.
