Problem addressed: how to decrease the loss of visual quality in an image that appears when this image is placed behind a semitransparent photovoltaic sheet or film. Solution: on the one hand, increase the luminosity of the image by depositing a white-colored or metallic or reflective layer on the side of the photovoltaic cells that is turned towards the image; and on the other hand, by modifying the luminosity, the contrast, and the color saturation of the image.

Device for improving the quality of an image covered with a semitransparent photovoltaic film

The invention relates to a display device including a plurality of pixels forming an image, and an optical plate arranged opposite the image and having transparency areas configured to allow the light from the pixels to at least partially pass therethrough. The optical plate further includes at least one array of functional elements corresponding to an electronic and/or mechanical function. The functional elements are inserted between the transparency areas and arranged such that the light emitted by the pixels is directed so as to pass through the transparency areas without intercepting the arrays of functional elements, so as to render the arrays of functional elements invisible or quasi-invisible to an observer of the display device. The invention can be used in any type of display device in which functions other than display itself must be integrated in a visually discreet manner.

Display device including a multifunctional and communicating surface

A display device, in particular digital display screen, with integrated photovoltaic cells, including (a) an array of image zones emitting light or backlit by a light source placed behind the array of image zones, (b) an array formed by a plurality of photovoltaic cells and a plurality of orifices, in which array two neighboring photovoltaic cells form an orifice, and (c) a lenticular array making it possible to focus the light emitted by the image zones into the orifice between two neighboring photovoltaic cells. The lenticular array of the display device is positioned between the array of image zones and the array of photovoltaic cells.
