Methods and apparatus in a communications network as described herein are suitable for determining a first model for use in predicting conditions on carrier frequencies in the communications network. In a method, network measurements are obtained () of conditions on a plurality of carrier frequencies. A first model is then determined () based on the obtained measurements that takes as input the conditions on a first subset of the plurality of carrier frequencies and outputs a prediction of the conditions on a second subset of the plurality of carrier frequencies, based on the conditions of the first subset of carrier frequencies.

Method for handling synchronization of a wireless device (). The first network node () and the wireless device () operate in a wireless communications network (). Methods and apparatuses for handling synchronization of a wireless device

To perform handover in a multi-carrier network, a node that is currently serving a user equipment, UE, informs the neighboring nodes about the UE position and UE capabilities in terms of supported carriers. The neighboring nodes reply with a figure of merit indicative of connection efficacy, or data from which connection efficacy can be estimated, such as predicted signal quality and strength for each specified carrier. The serving node then determines, based on these predicted values, how to restrict mobility reference signal, MRS, measurements to promising candidate combinations of neighboring nodes and their carriers. Turning on of reference signals is thus limited, excluding nodes and carriers that will not be able to accept handover on technical or policy grounds, as well as nodes or carriers which have poor predicted signal quality.

The present invention relates to an improved predicting of target carrier radio conditions in a communication network. The improved prediction is achieved by acquiring, by a first network node, measurement data based on radio signals at a source carrier and a first target carrier. Method for arbitrary antenna power pattern utilizing a multiple of antenna elements

There is provided a method and corresponding apparatus for determining a beamforming configuration for a multi-antenna system according to an embodiment. In general, the multi-antenna system has at least two antennas and a port-to-antenna mapping between antenna ports and antennas. The method comprises obtaining (S) first feedback information originating from a wireless device relating to a multi-antenna transmission based on a first beamforming configuration including a first port-to-antenna mapping, and obtaining (S) second feedback information originating from the wireless device relating to a multi-antenna transmission based on a second, different beamforming configuration including a second, different port to-antenna mapping. The method also comprises determining (S), based on the first feedback information and the second feedback information, a third beamforming configuration for the multi-antenna system including a third port-to-antenna mapping to enable beamforming according to a third beam form.

There is provided a method for signaling an event associated with a wireless terminal in a communications network. The method is performed by an information providing node. The method comprises detecting an event associated with a wireless terminal, the event causing a change of operation in at least a client node or a hub node in a wireless backhaul network. One aspect of the teachings herein involves the temporary transfer of radio identities from one service area of a wireless communication network to another service area, where the individual radio identities are used to differentiate individual radio connections between the network and respective wireless nodes supported by the network. In particular, the temporary transfer of a given radio identity from its default service area for use in another service is limited temporally and/or geographically. Limiting the temporal and/or geographic scope of the radio identity transfer allows the network to substantially maintain default associations of radio identities and their respective service areas, which allows the network to prevent or reduce the use of conflicting radio identities in the same service area. Transfer signaling may be used to transfer radio identities. Such signaling may include the temporal and/or geographic restrictions, to control the migration or spread of borrowed identities in the network.

Method and apparatus for transferring radio service between transmission points in a wireless communication service

A radio network node () manages (A) establishment of a current radio session between a user equipment () and the radio network node (), wherein the current radio session is associated with a current set of characteristics relating to the radio network node () and/or the user equipment ().
