A method for fitting a pre-existing standard helmet to the head of a user, the helmet includes an optronic device intended to be positioned in front of the eyes of the user, the method comprising: A) measuring the dimensions of the user's head, the dimensions of the head comprising a volume of the head and a position of the eyes, B) obtaining the dimensions of the helmet, the dimensions of the helmet including a volume of the helmet, C) defining a lining for the helmet so as to ensure the positioning of the optronic device in front of the user's eyes, the lining having a top face that is intended to be applied against an inner face of the helmet and a bottom face that is intended to be applied against the user's head, the lining having a flexible cellular structure, the manufacture of the lining being adapted to the dimensions of the head and to the dimensions of the helmet, D) manufacturing the lining as defined in step C), and E) placing the lining inside the helmet.

Method for fitting a helmet to the head of a user

A modular helmet display system includes at least one helmet shell, binoculars and a display device. The helmet shell includes a mechanical arch fixedly mounted on the front part of the helmet, and the mechanical arch includes at least one first device for attaching the binoculars. In the system, the mechanical arch includes a second device for attaching the display device. The display device may include a posture detection device and an adjustment mechanism. The display system may include a mechanical cover which is mounted in place of the display device, the shape of the cover being adapted so as to hide the upper part of the helmet. A mobile visor can be mounted on the mechanical arch.

Visualization systems are provided which are intended to be worn by the head of a user wearing an audio headset consisting of a first hoop and two lateral earpieces, the visualization system comprising at least one headband in the form of a strap and a visualization device mounted on the headband. The headband comprises two symmetrical lateral hasps, each hasp being in the form of an arch so as to form an opening of a few centimeters between the arch and the head of the user so that, when the system is worn by the head, the opening is sufficient to allow the passage of one of the two lateral arms of the first hoop.

The general field of the invention is that of helmet shells made of composite material comprising at least one 'armure' of fabrics impregnated with a resin matrix. Certain parts of the 'armure' are impregnated with a resin matrix comprising an additive adapted to reinforce the mechanical strength of the helmet, the said parts corresponding to the weakest zones of a human head, such as the top of the head or the ears. Preferably, the resin is of the epoxy type and the additive is based on acrylic block copolymers. More precisely, the additive is of the &#x201c;Nanostrength&#xae;&#x201d; brand.

The invention relates to vision equipment including a translucent optical strip covering all or some of the visual field of the user of the said equipment and a device for projecting images onto the said strip in at least one zone of the visual field of the user, called the image-projection zone. A helmet position detection system for aircraft including a helmet comprising a fixed visor used as an optical mixer and a substantially spherical mobile visor that is able to occupy a position of use and a stowage position, the visor being arranged in front of the pilot's eyes in the position of use. The helmet detects the position of the mobile visor and the helmet position detection system detects an orientation of the helmet corresponding to the pilot's line of sight and applies an angular correction due to the mobile visor to the orientation measurements when the mobile visor is detected in the position of use. Optical sensors are preferably used to detect the position of the mobile visor.

A lighting device for helmet comprises a helmet including an arm to which are fixed a microphone and a lamp, called 'lip light', lighting with at least one lighting level. The device comprises a head tracking system comprising a computer for measuring and collecting data concerning the attitude of the helmet in motion and its position in space. Lamp activation means are automatically controlled by positions calculated by the computer so that the lip light lights, with one of its lighting levels, when it is oriented in a direction contained within a predefined area.

The disclosure relates to the ergonomics and safety of head equipment, notably incorporating display devices, intended to be worn by aircraft crew. One of the difficulties in evaluating injury risks associated with the wearing of head equipment is to determine precisely the center of gravity of the actual user's head, since standard head models prove to be too imprecise. The invention proposes a process enabling individualized determination of the center of gravity of the user's head and therefore its precise position relative to the center of gravity of the head equipment. One preferred embodiment of said process is to establish a three-dimensional mapping of the external surface of the user's head.

Process for determining the biomechanical compatibility of head equipment

A compact optical architecture for a wide-field helmet-mounted display includes a one-piece visor and optical relay to convey said the image between an image source and the visor. The visor is formed by a surface generated by revolution having an axis of revolution (&Dgr;) parallel to the ocular axis (&Dgr; ) and substantially contained in the sagittal plane of the pilot, at the level of the forehead. The optical relay includes a forehead-mounted mirror that is not planar, having an axis of revolution (&Dgr;) that is the same as the axis of revolution (&Dgr;) of the visor, its geometrical parameters being computed in such a way that the envelope of the useful beams propagated between the forehead-mounted mirror and the first beam-formation device of the optical relay upstream from the forehead-mounted mirror are substantially contained in a cylinder with a section substantially equal to the useful surface of the mirror. Such a device may find particular use with wide-field helmet-mounted display for aircraft or helicopter pilots.

In order to protect the neck of the wearer of a helmet comprising heavy and/or dangerous equipment, the helmet comprises a part that can be jettisoned in the event of an emergency. The jettisonable part is separated from the fixed part of the helmet by the rapid inflation of a cushion between these two parts. The device can be applied especially to helmets worn by the pilots of armed helicopters or aircraft.

Disclosed is head equipment having a shell with flanks on each side of a plane of symmetry of the shell, an upper part and a rear part, and a rigid structure designed to bear an optronic device. The head equipment comprises linking assemblies to attach the structure and the shell to each other in a locally movable way. The linking assemblies are attached to the structure and to the shell and are capable of changing shape. The linking assemblies may be blocks of elastomer or pins attached to the structure, sliding in cylinders attached to the shell.
