Techniques for secure mobile payment are provided. A credit or gift card is registered for additional security, such that a secure identifier or personal identification number (PIN) is required for use of the credit or gift card. Registration is not required or even known by the third-party payment service associated with the card. Subsequently, when a consumer attempts to use the card and before payment instructions are sent to the corresponding third-party payment service, the secure identifier or PIN is requested and verified. If properly verified, the payment instructions are forwarded for processing by the third-party payment service.

Techniques for secure mobile payment

Systems and methods allowing for a customer to initiate a fuel purchase transaction utilizing a mobile device are described. The customer may further be presented with advertisements on his mobile device and/or be provided with the opportunity to purchase additional items for inclusion on his fuel transaction. In some embodiments, the customer may pay for his transaction using mobile wallet information or other information associated with the mobile device. Alternatively, in some embodiments, the customer may pay for his transaction using input means of the fuel pump.

System and method for ordering items

Various methods are described for evaluating fuel pump data and determining a fuel pump flow rate. One example method may comprise receiving fuel pump information associated with a fuel pump. The method may further comprise updating previous fuel pump information associated with the fuel pump based on the received fuel pump information. Additionally, the method may comprise detecting an alarm condition associated with the fuel pump based at least in part on the updated fuel pump information. Similar and related methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are also provided.

Systems and methods for evaluating fuel pump data

Various embodiments each include at least one of systems, methods, and software to detect possible fuel theft and to provide notification thereof. In a simple embodiment, data from a fuel pump is obtained, either directly or via a fuel pump controller, by a fuel station site controller and stored. The stored data includes a measure of a total amount of fuel dispensed from the fuel pump, such as may be measured by a fuel pump feedstock meter. At a time when the site controller reestablishes data communication with the fuel pump controller after a loss, the site controller receives a fuel pump data update. The updated data is then compared to the stored measure. When there is a mismatch, a possible fuel theft has occurred and an alarm process may be triggered.

Fuel theft detection

A binocular indirect ophthalmoscope is disclosed having a housing with a pair of eyepieces. The housing itself is removably secured to the head of the user, typically an ophthalmologist. An optical system is contained within the housing for reflecting light along a viewing axis through each of the eyepieces. An illumination system is also provided for directing an illuminating light beam along an illumination axis. This illumination system includes a source of light remote from the housing and an optical fiber which optically couples the light source to the housing. The remote location of the light source reduces the weight of the ophthalmoscope and eliminates dangerous overheating of the headpiece.
