A plug connector includes first contacts, a first housing comprising a guide portion and holding the first contacts, and a first metal member. The first metal member is attached to the guide portion and covers at least parts respectively of an upper surface of the guide portion and three outer surfaces of an end wall portion of the guide portion. A receptacle connector includes second contacts, a second housing holding the second contacts, and a second metal member. The second housing comprises a to-be-guided portion outside an arrangement range of the second contacts. The to-be-guided portion is adapted to be fitted to the guide portion and is formed by a U-shaped wall. The second metal member is attached to the to-be-guided portion and covers at least parts respectively of an upper surface of the to-be-guided portion and two inner surfaces of the U-shaped wall.

Electrical connector

A connector includes a plurality of contacts, a housing made of a predetermined material and a reinforcement member. The housing holds the contacts. The housing includes a bottom portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the connector. The reinforcement member is, at least in part, embedded in the bottom portion of the housing via insert-molding. The reinforcement member has a rib portion extending in the longitudinal direction. The rib portion has a reversed U- or V-shape cross-section and is filled with the predetermined material of the housing.

Connector

A connector has a contact and a housing. The contact has a fixed portion, a contact portion, a spring portion and a held portion. The spring portion supports the contact portion. The held portion is located between the fixed portion and the spring portion. The housing has a sidewall portion and a bottom portion The sidewall portion is located outward of the spring portion in a predetermined direction and holds the held portion. The bottom portion is located under the spring portion in a vertical direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction. The housing has a gap between a lower surface of the spring portion and the bottom portion. The bottom portion and the sidewall portion hide the contact except the fixed portion both when the connector is seen from below along the vertical direction and when the connector is seen from the outside along the predetermined direction.

In a card connector for connection to a card, a connector frame defines a region allowing the card to be fitted therein and holds a contact adapted for contact with the card. For ejecting the card, an eject member is movable with respect to the connector frame and swingably holds a locking member having a locking function to lock the card. The locking member swings due to engagement with the connector frame according to movement of the eject member, thereby controlling the locking function.

Card connector capable of switching a card holding state with a simple structure

A connector capable of preventing an engaging portion of an ejection mechanism from being damaged even when a card-type electronic component is inserted obliquely with respect to a card inserting/ejecting direction. A cover is mounted on a housing having a card accommodating portion for accommodating a memory card in a manner covering the card accommodating portion. The ejection mechanism ejects the memory card from the card accommodating portion. The ejection mechanism has a locking portion that is engaged with the memory card such that part of the memory card remains within the card accommodating portion during ejection of the memory card. The cover is provided with a guide for guiding a front end of the memory card in the card inserting/ejecting direction when the memory card is inserted into the card accommodating portion obliquely with respect to the card inserting/ejecting direction C.

In an electronic apparatus adapted to load and unload an object, a contact is held by a base having a principal surface. The contact has a contacting portion which is formed on the principal surface and elastically displaceable in a direction intersecting the principal surface. A holder is coupled to the base to be rotatable around an axis extending in a first direction perpendicular to the principal surface. The holder has a receiving portion adapted to hold the object and is adapted to bring the object into contact with the contacting portion.

Electronic apparatus which requires less space for loading and unloading an object

A card connector for connecting an electronic card with an electronic device is disclosed. The connector comprises a base member and a metal cover (), which define a receptacle for receiving at least partially the electronic card therein. The connector further comprises an ejection mechanism for ejecting the electronic card, at least in part, from the receptacle. The ejector mechanism comprises: a cam portion () which provides a cam path; a cam follower (); and a resilient supporter () which supporter supports the cam follower () to allow the cam follower () to travel along the cam path. The ejection mechanism is formed integrally with the metal cover (). Instead, the cam portion () may be formed integrally with the base member.

Card connector

For connecting a card, a card connector includes a connector body for receiving the card and an ejecting mechanism adapted to eject the card. The ejecting mechanism includes an ejecting member to be moved together with the card and a cam coupled to the connector body for controlling movement of the ejecting member. The ejecting member includes an ejecting member body guided by the connector body, a cam follower connected to the ejecting member body and guided by the cam, and a locking portion connected to the ejecting member body and displaceable between a first position where movement of the card is locked and a second position where movement of the card is unlocked. The connector body has a receiving portion for maintaining the locking portion at the first position where the ejecting member is located at a specific position.

Card connector having an ejecting member with which a cam follower and a locking member are integrally coupled

In a card connector including a fixed portion adapted to receive a card, a conductive contact is coupled to the fixed portion and adapted to be connected to the card received in the fixed portion. An eject mechanism is coupled to the fixed portion and adapted to eject the card from the fixed portion in an ejecting direction. A braking mechanism is coupled to the eject mechanism and adapted to supply a controlled braking force to the eject mechanism. The controlled braking force is variable in an ejecting process of the card.

Card connector in which a braking force is varied during a card ejecting process

A card connector has an ejecting mechanism and a locking mechanism. The ejecting mechanism has an ejecting slider slidable together with a card in card inserting and ejecting directions. The ejecting slider has an operating part. The locking mechanism has an operated part elastically deformable and a locking portion combined with the operated part. The locking portion is movable between an open position and a closed position of a card inserting/ejecting opening. When the card is inserted, the ejecting slider slides in the inserting direction to separate the operating part from the operated part so that the operated part is deformed in one direction to move the locking portion from the open position to the closed position.

In a card connector for use in connecting a card, an eject mechanism is coupled to a housing for receiving the card. The eject mechanism is for executing an ejecting operation of ejecting the card from the housing. The card connector is provided with a retarding mechanism which cooperates with the eject mechanism to retard the ejecting operation. The retarding mechanism may include a braking mechanism for braking the card in response to an operation of the eject mechanism. Alternatively, the braking mechanism may be for braking an eject bar which is included in the eject mechanism and movable along the housing for ejecting the card.

Card connector having a retarding mechanism for retarding an ejecting operation of a card

In a card connector for connection to a card, a housing is provided therein with a contact for contacting the card. For ejecting the card from the card connector, an ejecting mechanism includes an ejecting bar coupled to the housing and movable in directions of insertion and ejection of the card. For controlling an operation of the ejecting bar, a cam mechanism is coupled to the ejecting bar. The ejecting bare is constantly biased by an elastic member towards direction of the ejection of the card. The ejecting bar has a retaining portion for retaining the card. The ejecting bar moves along with the card with the retaining portion retaining the card when the ejecting bar is operated to eject the card from the card connector.

Card connector that can prevent both leaping-out and ejection failure of a card

A card socketcomprises a sliderand a rocker arm. The slideris slidable in a card insertion/ejection direction. The rocker armcomprises a fulcrum, a first pressed portionand a second pressed portion. The fulcrumis provided between the first pressed portionand the second pressed portion. When a first force is provided to the first pressed portion, the rocker armslides toward the sliderand prevents the sliderfrom sliding in the card ejection direction. When a second force is provided to the second pressed portion, the rocker armreleases the slider. Then, the sliderslides in the card ejection direction.

Card socket

A housing () is provided with an eject lever () for ejecting a card (). The eject lever holds a locking member () to be swingable around a support shaft (). The housing is provided with a cam portion (). The locking member is provided with a cam follower portion () to be engaged with the cam portion and a locking portion () for locking the card to inhibit the release of the card. When the eject lever is made to perform sliding movement, the cam portion and the cam follower portion cooperate to swing the locking member so that the card is locked and unlocked by the locking portion.
