The present invention is a mobile, in situ applicator system and method for remediating contaminated soils at a site without the removal of those soils. The applicator system comprises a vehicle, preferably a chemical treatment vehicle used in the oil and gas industry, and fluid dispensing components comprising a tank, hose, and pump for the application to contaminated sites.

Method for remediation of contaminated ground at oil or gas facility

The golf green speed and contour teaching device is used to help the golfer learn and understand the green he is about to putt on. Golfers usually take years of practice to become proficient at learning the speed and route the ball will take when struck. He must putt over and over, and over again to familiarize himself with the terrain and the grass to be able to make the correct putt on the ball. The grass heighth, dampness and other factors are not easily understood by the novice, and can make him putt a poor shot. Also, ridges or valleys in the green make contour reading difficult. Many professionals have difficulty even after years of practice. This instrument will speed up the golfer's learning process and even the amateur can become proficient at putting. This instrument will give him wisdom.

Golf greens speed and contour teaching device

This device presented here is a portable, collapsible greens speed measuring instrument to aid golfers in putting. It has been difficult for golfers to have accurate readings of the putting green speed since most golf courses do not evaluate their greens. This invention will do this for the golfer. The device is inexpensive, light, convenient, and easy to use, which is in sharp contrast to the stimpmeter used today in professional circles. This device folds into a small size, approximately 8 inches, in contracts the the stimpmeter used now which is about 30 inches. The presently used device is expensive and is not collapsible. It is difficult to use and unavailable at most golf courses. It is for these reasons there is a strong need for a portable greens speed meter presented here for the average or the professional golfer.

A patellar alignment device for determining the position of a patella prosthesis. The device comprises two components&mdash;a baseplate and a mobile component which is preferably magnetically attached to the baseplate. During a surgical procedure to replace the knee, the baseplate is temporarily attached to the back of the patella. The baseplate may contain spikes or prongs to secure it to the patella. The baseplate further includes a series of slots for marking the patella. The mobile component resembles a patella and is placed on the baseplate. The patella with the alignment device in place is then placed in position on the knee and trialed. Because the mobile component is free to move on the baseplate, it finds the position that is most amenable to a natural knee movement. The alignment device is then exposed and the patella is marked at the position of the mobile component. Since the baseplate contains a series of slots, the patella can be easily marked at several locations around the mobile component. The entire patella alignment assembly is then removed and the final prosthetic device can be inserted at the marked location.

Additives are produced by (i) reacting an O,O-dihydrocarbyl phosphorodithioic acid with a monoepoxide or mixture of monoepoxides having in the range of 20 to about 30 carbon atoms in the molecule or a vegetable oil epoxide such as epoxidized soybean oil or methyl epoxy soyate, (ii) reacting the product with phosphorus pentoxide to produce an acid phosphate intermediate, and (iii) neutralizing the intermediate with at least one amine. At least 50 mole %, and preferably all, of the hydrocarbyl groups of the O,O-dihydrocarbyl phosphorodithioic acid are secondary acyclic hydrocarbyl groups free of acetylenic unsaturation. The additives are multifunctional in that they have limited slip properties, antiwear/extreme pressure properties, and corrosion inhibiting properties.

Oil-soluble phosphorus- and nitrogen-containing additives

Additives are produced by (i) reacting an O,O-dihydrocarbyl phosphorodithioic acid with a monoepoxide or mixture of monoepoxides having in the range of 20 to about 30 carbon atoms in the molecule, (ii) reacting the product with phosphorus pentoxide to produce an acid phosphate intermediate, and (iii) neutralizing the intermediate with at least one amine. At least 50 mole % , and preferably all, of the hydrocarbyl groups of the O,O-dihydrocarbyl phosphorodithioic acid are secondary acyclic hydrocarbyl groups free of acetylenic unsaturation. The balance, if any, of such hydrocarbyl groups are primary acyclic hydrocarbyl groups free of acetylenic unsaturation. The additives are multifunctional in that they have limited slip properties, antiwear/extreme pressure properties, and corrosion inhibiting properties.

A needle holding device for a surgical needle during a suturing procedure, the device including a holding device for holding the needle while passing the needle through the material to be sutured, and a selectively movable pick-up device to grasp the point of the needle and pull the needle through the material to be sutured, the pick-up device being subsequently movable towards the holding device to transfer the needle for the next stitch.

A remote control apparatus for operating the channel selector of a television receiver, the apparatus comprising a drive motor connected to a gear reducer, the gear reducer being drivingly connected to the shaft of the channel selector, a switch for the drive motor, the switch being at the end of a length of cord to allow the switch to be located remotely of the receiver, and a stabilizing means to prevent rotation of the gear reducer with respect to the receiver.
