A method, system, and medium are provided for automating the work order and specification processes for engineering projects. All documentation is generated, saved, and retrievable over the web according to an identifier. The application is accessible through the user's web browser and is thus available to authorized users irrespective of physical location. The method also consolidates two traditionally separate work order and specification processes.

A method and system for offering a femtocell to a subscriber. The method includes a computer system making a first determination that a level of wireless performance experienced by a mobile station of a subscriber at a given location is less than a threshold level. The method further includes the computer system making a second determination that the given location is location associated with a billing address of the subscriber. The method then includes, in response to the first and second determinations, the computer system initiating a process of offering a femtocell to the subscriber.

Methods, systems, and media for identifying areas of outbound roaming on a wireless network are disclosed. A roaming-network event record listing roaming events of subscribers of a home network is received. A home-network event record listing network events on a home network is also received. The two records are correlated to identify roaming events and network events having matching caller identifiers and time stamps within a predetermined range. Location data of a network event is adopted as location data for a matching roaming event. A home-network wireless-communications antenna, tower, or station having a service area in which a concentration of roaming events have occurred is identified. The distance of the roaming events from the antenna is determined and distance bands corresponding to that distance are plotted on a map to aid in identifying locations at which outbound roaming has occurred.

A method of operating a computer system comprises receiving per call measurement (PCM) data associated with a radio access network, processing the PCM data to perform a rolling average analysis of dropped calls by the radio access network, processing the rolling average analysis to determine if a location analysis is required, in response to determining that the location analysis is required, processing the PCM data to perform the location analysis of the dropped calls, and processing the location analysis to determine if a response is required.

A web-based geographic network status tool uses an animation process that sequentially displays web pages, one after the other. Each page reflects the status of the network for a different time block. The animation optionally includes two layers. One layer shows which elements (towers) are faulty and why (e.g., subject to power failure, undergoing software or hardware problems, transport problems). The other layer displays if the problem has been perpetuated for more than one time block.

The includes creating a set of label records to be stored in a storage component; receiving search criteria for retrieving all or a portion of the label records; identifying at least one record in the storage component that corresponds to the search criteria; and providing a data stream that, when rendered by the printing device, produces labels displaying content of the identified records in a predetermined format. The system includes a user interface coupled to a storage component for receiving a search string to query the storage component for one or more records and a label controller that receives the query result and converts the result into a prescribed format whereby the query result can be rendered on a printing device.

A method, system, and medium are provided for Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) Data storage and retrieval in a networking environment. The method includes receiving an OTDR trace file in its native format that includes OTDR information, storing the trace file, receiving a request to present the OTDR information in a browser or some other interface, identifying a viewer that can render the OTDR information, and communicating the OTDR information to the browser. The system includes a user interface that facilitates uploading an OTDR trace file in its native format, a storage device for receiving the trace file, and a viewer that can render the data within the OTDR trace file.

A method, system, and medium for presenting network-infrastructure information in an intuitive, easy-to-understand format is provided. The method includes retrieving data-routing information, retrieving equipment-location information, and then rendering on a map one or more line segments corresponding to the data-routing information and one or more equipment identifiers associated with said equipment-location information. A database is used to generate the map. This database is preferably a database that is also used to track communications pathways and equipment devices so that each map is dynamically generated from current data.
