The invention is a tablet crusher including a linkage that is operable to bring to bear a force on a platen so as to urge it against an anvil, wherein platen and anvil are shaped so as to bring about a crushing force upon a tablet disposed therebetween. The device comprises: (1) a base; (2) an anvil integrally fixed to the base, the anvil having a concave crushing face; (3) a platen having a convex crushing face, coupled at a pivot to the base so as to be moveable against the anvil; (4) a screw actuator for facilitating movement of the platen against the anvil, the screw actuator having a handle; whereby movement of the handle produces movement of the platen relative to the anvil, for crushing a tablet between the anvil and the platen.

Tablet crusher

An housing is configured for connection to the raceway panels by removing the concrete above the raceway panel, cutting a hole in the raceway panel, and securing the housing in the hole in the raceway panel. Alignment clips allow the afterset housings to be ganged together to form an integral afterset assembly. Each alignment clip is configured to slidably engage with a pair of the afterset housings. In one embodiment, the afterset housing includes a preset housing that is normally configured for connection to the raceway panel prior to pouring of the concrete floor, and an adapter connectable to the preset housing and being constructed to reconfigure the preset for use as an afterset housing which is adapted for connection to the raceway panel following pouring of the concrete floor.

Housings for underfloor raceways

An outlet box includes a main body having a top wall integrally formed with lateral walls, a bottom wall, and a back wall, wherein said top, lateral, bottom and back walls define an inner cavity therebetween, an electrical receptacle secured within the inner cavity, and at least one securing member adapted to secure the outlet box within a wall frame. The outlet box is secured to a feature within the wall frame by way of the at least one securing member prior to concrete being poured into the wall frame.

In-wall electrical box

A cover assembly is provided for preventing water infiltration into an in-floor receptacle fitting, such as a poke-thru fitting. The cover assembly includes a trim flange which overlies the fitting and is adapted to support at least one receptacle within the fitting. A cover plate is mounted on the trim flange includes access doors for selectively covering and exposing the receptacles. A first seal member is interposed between the cover plate and the trim flange for sealing against water infiltration therebetween. The first seal may be in the form of a planar gasket or O-ring. A second seal, in the form of at least one compressible gasket, extends around the perimeter of the floor opening and is adapted to be compressed between the trim flange and the surface of the floor. The cover plate may also include top and bottom portions and a third seal member interposed between the top and bottom portions.

Cover assembly for an in-floor fitting

A cover assembly is provided for preventing water infiltration into an in-floor receptacle fitting, such as a poke-thru fitting. The fitting includes an internal compartment which is accessible through an opening in the surface of the floor. The cover assembly includes a trim flange which overlies the floor opening. The trim flange supports at least one receptacle, such as a power receptacle, within the fitting such that the receptacle can be interconnected within the inner compartment with source cables that enter the fitting from below the floor, and can be interconnected from above with a connector such as a male electrical plug. A cover plate is mounted on the trim flange and overlies the receptacles carried by the fitting. The cover plate includes a plurality of access doors. Each of the access doors is movable between a first position at which it overlies an associated receptacle to prevent access thereto and a second position at which the associated receptacle is exposed and accessible from above. A first seal member interposed between the cover assembly first and second portions and adapted to seal against water infiltration therebetween. The first seal is in the form of a planar gasket which is sandwiched between the cover assembly first and second portions. The first seal overlies the receptacles and at least the portions of the trim flange which surround the perimeters of the receptacles. Access openings in the first seal provide access to the receptacles. Ribs extend upwardly around the perimeters of the openings and form an abut against the bottoms of the access doors when the doors are at their closed positions. The interference fit between the ribs and the access doors seals against water infiltration therebetween and into the fitting. The first seal further includes a downwardly extending rib which engages in a reciprocal groove formed in the trim flange around the perimeter of the receptacles. A second seal, in the form of at least one compressible gasket, extends around the perimeter of the floor opening and is adapted to be compressed between the cover assembly first portion and the floor's surface when the first portion is connected to the fitting.

Water-tight cover assembly for an in-floor fitting

An access cover for an in-floor receptacle fitting includes a door mounting member connectable to the fitting at a location that overlies the receptacles carried by the fitting. A pair of access doors are slidably connected to the door mounting member for movement between closed positions at which the doors abut one another and overlie the at least one receptacle, and open positions at which the doors are laterally spaced from one another and the at least one receptacle is exposed. A seal member is adapted to seal against moisture infiltration between the access doors when the access doors are at their closed positions. The seal member may include a compressible seal carried by at least one of the access doors. Preferably the compressible seal members are carried by each of the access doors and are positioned to abut one another when the doors are at their closed positions. The compressible seals may be formed from a compressible polymer that is co-molded with the access doors. Alternatively, the seal member may include a magnetic seal member carried by at least one of the doors. Preferably, magnetic seal members are carried by each of the access doors and are positioned to engage with one another when the doors are at their closed positions.

Split dome cover assembly for an in-floor fitting

A cover assembly for an in-floor fitting of the type having an interior compartment which is accessible through an opening in the surface of the floor includes a bracket and a pair of access doors. The bracket is connectable to the fitting and defines an access opening which aligns with the floor opening. The access doors are pivotally connected to the mounting bracket for selectively exposing the access opening. When the doors are at their closed position, they define a cable opening between their free ends. The cable opening is sized to permit at least one cable to pass between the doors and into the interior compartment of the fitting. The access doors carry compressible seal members in their free ends which abut with one another when the doors are moved to their closed position so as to seal the cable opening around any cables passing therethrough. Egress covers are slidably connected to the access doors for selectively covering and exposing the cable opening.

An access cover for an in-floor fitting of the type supporting a plurality of power and/or communication distribution devices includes a cover plate connectable to the fitting. The cover plate includes at least one access door and preferably separate access doors for each distribution device in the fitting. The access doors are pivotally connected to the cover plate for movement between a closed positions at which the doors overlies the associated distribution devices to prevent access thereto and an open positions at which the associated distribution devices are exposed to provide access thereto. A retainer plate is interposed between the cover plate and the fitting. The retainer plate includes retaining hooks associated with each of the access doors. Each of the retainer hooks is positioned to engage with an associated door to releasably maintain the door at its closed position. The retaining hooks are normally biased to first positions at which they engage with an the associated doors and are movable to second positions to permit the doors to be moved from their closed positions. The retainer plate further presents a rib that is positioned to engage with the hinge side of the doors to releasably maintain the doors at their open position.

Cover assembly for in-floor devices

One embodiment of a non-metallic floor box for use in electrical in-floor power and communication distribution systems for office buildings and the like includes a closed housing having a base, a top and vertically extending side walls defining an interior volume. The floor box prevents concrete from entering the housing during pouring and setting of the concrete floor, and is adapted to be cut off substantially flush with and parallel to the concrete floor in which it is set. The floor box housing includes gradient markings disposed on at least one of its side walls to indicate the interior volume of the housing and/or the depth of the concrete floor.

Non-metallic floor box

An electrical floor box providing connections to one or more in-floor service distribution systems includes lower and upper portions defining a hollow interior and a plurality of wiring compartments and conduction tunnels interconnecting the wiring compartments. The lower portion includes a base and a plurality of side walls extending upwardly from the base. The upper portion is slidably connectable to the lower portion forming the hollow interior and the wiring compartments which extend outwardly from, and open to, the hollow interior. The upper portion also includes a top opening which provides access to the hollow interior.

Shallow recessed floor box

A non-metallic floor box for use in electrical in-floor power and communication distribution systems includes a plurality of sets of vertically aligned indexing teeth formed in the interior of the housing side wall. An adapter ring is sized for insertion into the housing interior for supporting an activation kit above the housing interior compartment. The adapter ring has flanges extending from its periphery which are positioned to reciprocally mate with the vertical rows of teeth when the adapter ring is inserted into the housing interior compartment. The flanges and teeth are constructed to permit the ring to be inserted into the housing but to restrict its removal from the housing after its insertion therein. An activation cover is securable to the top of the adapter ring and extends beyond the perimeter of the side wall to limit the distance the adapter ring can be inserted into the housing. The floor box accommodates dual services through the use of two sets of parallel aligned conduit hubs and a divider which is insertable into the housing interior between the two sets of conduit hubs. The closed top of the housing acts as a concrete cover during the pouring of the floor, and as a temporary debris cover after it is cut off but prior to activation of the floor box. Gradient markings on the interior of the floor box provide a quick and accurate measurement of interior floor box volume for inspection and building code compliance.
