The present disclosure generally relates to a system and methods for stimulation with particle-stabilized emulsion treatment fluids during hydraulic fracturing operations. A treatment fluid is disclosed, the treatment fluid including a continuous fluid phase, a dispersed fluid phase dispersed throughout the continuous fluid phase, a surfactant, and a plurality of solid particles adsorbed to an interface between the continuous and dispersed fluid phases thereby stabilizing the dispersed fluid phase in the continuous fluid phase. A method for treating a subterranean formation is disclosed, the method including providing a treating fluid comprising a plurality of solid particles adsorbed to an interface between a continuous fluid phase and a dispersed fluid phase, thereby stabilizing the continuous and dispersed fluid phases, and pumping the treating fluid under pressure via a pump to invert the emulsion so that at least a portion of the solid particles are deposited in the subterranean formation.

System and methods for delivery of multiple highly interactive stimulation treatments in single dose and single pumping stage

A method comprising: providing a composition comprising: a base liquid; and solid particles; foaming the composition with a gas to produce a foamed drilling fluid; wherein the foamed drilling fluid is characterized as a Pickering foam wherein at least a portion of the solid particles are dispersed on an interface between the base liquid and the gas to stabilize the Pickering foam; pumping the foamed drilling fluid through a drill string; and extending a wellbore through a subterranean formation.

In accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure, a loading tool for a multi-well chromatography filter plate is disclosed. The loading tool may include a top plate and a bottom plate slidably coupled to the top plate. The top plate may include a plurality of wells for holding a material, a rail located along a side of the top plate, and a notch formed in the rail. The bottom plate may include a plurality of funnels extending from the bottom plate, each of the plurality of funnels corresponding to one of the plurality of wells, a track located along a side of the bottom plate to receive the rail located on the top plate, and a pathway formed in the track to receive the notch such that the notch and the pathway limit movement of the top plate relative to the bottom plate.

A method of flow testing can include dispensing at least one solid material and at least one liquid into each of multiple wells in a filter plate, and allowing the liquid to flow from the filter plate only by force of gravity. A flow testing system can include a multiple well filter plate, each of the wells having disposed therein a selected combination of formation particles, a fracturing fluid composition and a liquid hydrocarbon, and a collection plate vertically below the filter plate. The fracturing fluid composition and the liquid hydrocarbon flow from the filter plate to the collection plate only by force of gravity.

A fluidic device that can emulate a fracture is provided and includes a body with a first region that can emulate a propped fracture and a second region that can emulate an earth formation material. A test fluid flows into the device at a test pressure and temperature, and substantially fills the first and second regions. A portion of the test fluid flows back out of the device when the pressure is reduced. A method of emulating fluid flow through a fracture is provided, the method including a fluidic device that includes a body, a first region that emulates the fracture, and a second region that emulates an earth formation material. Flowing a test fluid at a test pressure and temperature into the first region, and reducing a pressure of the test fluid, thereby allowing some of the test fluid to flow from the device.

A method of flow testing can include dispensing at least one solid material and at least one liquid into each of multiple wells in a filter plate, and then heating the filter plate with the solid material and liquid therein to an elevated temperature. A flow testing system can include a multiple well filter plate, each of the wells having disposed therein a selected combination of formation particles, a fracturing fluid and a liquid hydrocarbon, and a heating device that heats the filter plate to an elevated temperature.

This present application relates generally to enhancing flow of fluids during fracturing operations. More specifically, the application relates to providing a proppant with a low surface energy, introducing the proppant into a subterranean formation with a surfactant selected to interact with the proppant such that the recovery of hydrocarbons from the subterranean formation is enhanced.

System and method for monitoring frac fluid flow through a column bed includes preparing a vessel () with a column including a filtering member (), a column bed () simulating a downhole environment, and a frac fluid (). Frac fluid () is flowed through the column bed () at an acceleration exceeding gravity for a predetermined period of time. The amount of liquid that flows through the column bed () and that is recovered after the predetermined period of time is then determined.

Methods for selecting a surfactant for treating a subterranean formation based on the performance of the surfactant and the characteristics of the subterranean formation and the treatment fluids that may be used to treat that formation are provided. In one embodiment, the method may comprise providing a treatment fluid, formation materials, hydrocarbon, and a plurality of surfactants, wherein the hydrocarbon is acquired from a subterranean formation; selecting at least two surfactants from the plurality of surfactants by determining whether each of the plurality of surfactants separates a mixture of the treatment fluid and the hydrocarbon; and selecting at least one surfactant from the at least two surfactants by determining whether the hydrocarbon displaces the treatment fluid from the formation materials in the presence of each of the at least two surfactants.
