A method of making a hair care composition is provided, comprising: providing a cationic hair care emulsion, comprising: a cationic surfactant; optionally, a nonionic surfactant; water, wherein the water forms a continuous phase; and an internal phase, wherein the internal phase comprises: a cosmetically acceptable hydrocarbon oil; and a polyolefin blend, comprising: a high density polyolefin having a density of &#x3e;0.90 g/cm; and a low density polyolefin having a density of &#x2264;0.90 g/cm; wherein the polyolefin blend has an average melt index of &#x3e;7 as measured according to ASTM D 1238; providing a cosmetically acceptable silicone; providing an additional water; providing at least one hair care additive; and combining the cationic hair care emulsion, the cosmetically acceptable silicone, the additional water and the at least one hair care additive to form the hair care composition.

Synergistic hair care formulations

Provided is a concentrated emulsion and personal care compositions containing the concentrated emulsion. The emulsion comprises: (a) from 60 to 95 wt %, based on the total weight of the emulsion, of an internal phase comprising: (i) a low density polyolefin with a density equal to or below 0.90 g/cm, and (ii) a cosmetically acceptable solvent; (b) from 0.1 to 30 wt %, based on the total weight of the emulsion, of a surfactant; and (c) balance water as a continuous phase.

Concentrated polyolefin emulsions and personal care compositions containing them

A cationic hair care emulsion is providing including: a cationic surfactant; water, wherein the water forms a continuous phase; and an internal phase, wherein the internal phase comprises: a cosmetically acceptable hydrocarbon oil; and a polyolefin blend, comprising: a high density polyolefin having a density &#x3e;0.90 g/cm; and a low density polyolefin having a density of &#x2264;0.90 g/cm; wherein the polyolefin blend has an average melt index of &#x3e;7 as measured according to ASTM D 1238.
