A surgical instrument has at least one tool unit including at least one first tool element, at least one second tool element, and at least one coupling element that is connected to the second tool element, the at least one coupling element and the second tool element being supported in such a way that they are together displaceable relative to the first tool element along at least one displacement axis, and has an actuation, which includes at least one actuation element that is coupled with the coupling element in at least one first position of the coupling element relative to the second tool element, wherein for the purpose of releasing the actuation element, the coupling element is transferred from the first position into at least one second position relative to the second tool element.

A dilation device including a dilation instrument which includes a distal radially expandable section which is coupled via an elongate shank to a handling section, and an expandable covering with a closed distal end and an open proximal end, for the expansion section of the dilation instrument. The covering has a shank section extending along the shank of the dilation instrument. The open proximal end of the covering is detachably coupled to the distal end of the handling section of the dilation instrument. Furthermore, the covering is disclosed per se, which consists of a mesh material and has a shank section, which is connected to a coupling sleeve at the open proximal end.

Medical instrument serves to punch out tissue. It has a shaft, a first cap-shaped tool arranged at a distal end of said shaft and having a circular cutting edge. A second tool has a circular cutting edge at a distal end thereof. Said first and said second tool can be shifted relative to one another along said shaft thereby that second tool can enter into the cavity of that first tool. Said second tool bears a plate-like element, distally spaced apart from its cutting edge, said plate-like element has an extension in a cross-section plane corresponding to a clear internal cross-section plane of said cavity.

A medical instrument for suction and irrigation comprises an elongate shaft with a first channel serving as suction channel and with a second channel serving as irrigation channel, the shaft having a first tube which is closed in cross section and in which one of the channels is present. The shaft has a second tube which is open in cross section along its length and is placed with its open lengthwise side on an outside face of the first tube and secured sealingly thereon, the other channel being formed in the space between the outside face of the first tube and an inside face of the second tube. A method for production of the instrument is also described.
