A hob plate above a radiant heating device and a safety temperature limiter between said radiant heating device and hob plate, which safety temperature limiter is designed to deactivate the radiant heating device when a switch-off temperature is reached. To actuate the radiant heating device, a cooking vessel is first placed on the hob plate above the radiant heating device and then the radiant heating device is activated and at the same time detection of a first switch-on time starts. When a switch-off temperature is reached at the safety temperature limiter, the radiant heating device is deactivated by said safety temperature limiter. The first switch-on time that has elapsed up to that point between activation and deactivation of the radiant heating device is detected and compared with a predefined limit switch-on time. If the first switch-on time lies below the limit switch-on time the radiant heating device is switched off.

Method for actuating a heating device of a hob, and hob

A heating device for an electric cooktop has at least one long heating conductor, one support body on the top side of which the heating conductor is arranged and fitted, and one supporting means for the support body. The heating conductor is designed as a corrugated flat strip which has, on its bottom side, holding elements which are arranged at a distance from one another and integrally project downward and are pushed into the support body. The supporting means supports the support body, at least in its outer region along an outer edge, at the bottom. The support body consists, as a thin plate, of compressed and adhesively bonded mica material, for example micanite, and is therefore electrically insulating and sufficiently stable.

Heating device and electric cooker

A heating device for a hob has a flat rectangular carrier with an outer edge, two heating elements which each have a heating conductor and which together form a heating area and which are fastened on the carrier, wherein each heating element defines a partial heating area, and the partial heating areas are situated inside the rectangular shape of the carrier. The heating elements and their partial heating areas can be operated independently of one another. The partial heating areas of the heating elements do not intersect. A first partial heating area is rectangular and extends, by way of at least one of its outer sides, to the outer edge of the carrier and runs parallel in relation to the outer edge. A second partial heating area covers the portion of the rest of the carrier which is left free by the first partial heating area. Various configurations of heated areas can be achieved owing to the independent operation.

In the case of a method of pot detection at a gas cooking point with a gas burner, a thermocouple is fitted at the gas cooking point for flame sensing, to be precise in such a way that with every output of the gas burner possible for a sustained period it is impinged by the flame. In order to detect whether a pot has been placed onto the gas cooking point while the gas burner is in operation or whether the pot has been taken away, the thermoelectric voltage is tapped at the sensing means and evaluated by a comparison of the signal at the time with the signal in the case where a pot has been placed on. A different flame prevails at the thermocouple when a pot has been placed on than when the pot has been taken away, and the temperature is different. The output at the gas cooking point is reduced as a reaction to detection of the taking away of the pot.
