The invention relates to an electronic device () for obtaining a sensor signal for use in a system () which changes a sensing function in dependence on a light setting. The electronic device is configured to obtain a sensor signal from a sensor () and select based on data stored in a memory () which device and/or application of a plurality of devices () and/or applications the sensor signal should be transmitted to. The selection depends on which light setting is currently active on one or more light devices (-). The sensor is arranged to sense in a field of view. The electronic device is further configured to transmit the sensor signal to the selected device and/or application.

Selecting a destination for a sensor signal in dependence on an active light setting

A processor () receives an output from at least one component () of a lighting system (), the output indicating usage of the lighting system () by a user. Lighting device

Each of a plurality of lighting nodes in a linear array is connected at different respective positions along a flexible, rigid or malleable continuous supporting line. One or more attachable dividers are provided, configured to be mechanically attachable by a user onto the line without severing the line, or at least without completely severing the line, each between a respective neighbouring pair of the lighting nodes. Each of the attachable dividers is configured so as, when attached to the line, to enable detection of a position at which the divider is connected along the line relative to the lighting nodes, and configured to provide information related to said position to the controller, thus dividing the lighting nodes into different segments along the line. A controller is configured to apply a different lighting effect to the illumination emitted by the lighting nodes in each of some or all of the different segments.

Lighting strip

A method of controlling a plurality of lighting devices is disclosed. The method comprises obtaining a 360 degree panoramic image, rendering the 360 degree panoramic image at least partially on an image rendering device, obtaining positions of the plurality of lighting devices relative to the image rendering device, mapping the 360 degree panoramic image onto the plurality of lighting devices based on the positions of the plurality of lighting devices, such that each lighting device is associated with a part of the 360 degree panoramic image, determining, for each lighting device, a light setting based on an image characteristic of the part of the 360 degree image, and controlling each lighting device according to the respective light setting.

An electronic device () is configured to obtain an image captured with a camera, determine a location for a sensor, determine a detection zone of the sensor in relation to the image based on the location determined for the sensor, and display the image, a virtual representation () of the sensor and a virtual representation () of the detection zone superimposed over the image. The electronic device is configured to allow a user to specify or adapt at least one property for the sensor (). This at least one property includes the location for the sensor and may further include the orientation and/or the settings of the sensor.

A method of specifying a lighting effect to be emitted by an illumination source in order to illuminate a target object. The method comprises: placing a camera at a position at which the illumination source is installed or to be installed, or elsewhere on a straight line between that position and the target object; directing the camera along this line toward the target object; with the camera so placed and directed, using the camera to capture at least one image of the target object; automatically determining one or more parameters of the target object based on the at least one captured image; automatically specifying one or more properties for the lighting effect in dependence on the one or more parameters of the target object as determined based on the at least one captured image; and instigating creation of the lighting effect to include the one or more specified properties.

Custom lighting

A luminaire () comprises an array of lighting units () arranged as a plurality of regions (-). A reflector arrangement () is provided over the array of lighting units () for directing the light from each region (-) of the luminaire () to a different spread of light output directions. Each lighting unit () of at least one of the regions (-) comprises a first sub-unit () with a first polarised light output and a second sub-unit () with a second light output which is different from the first light output in polarisation, wherein the first and second sub-units () are independently controllable. In this way, light output in a certain range of directions can be controlled to have a desired polarisation. By actuating different sub-units (), the polarisation can be dynamically controlled. Thus, a system can be set up with a desired static polarisation output pattern, or the polarisation pattern may be controlled to evolve over time, for example in response to external user, sensor or data input.

Disclosed is a lighting device () for generating a dynamically adjustable spotlight without moving parts. The invention provides a lighting system () for generating a configurable spotlight effect adapted to direct the attention of an individual from an initial location () to a defined second location (). In particular, the invention comprises a presence detector () for detecting motion of an individual () at a detection location () within a detection area, and for detecting in which direction the individual () is moving. A configurable light source () is controlled by a controller () to create a light effect () from a first location () in front of the individual () based on the direction of the individual () toward a defined location () so as to thereby draw the attention of the user toward said defined location.
