In a method for controlling an active chassis of a vehicle, an obstacle is identified on a travel route located in front of a wheel of a front axle. A spring-shock absorber force of the spring-shock absorber system of the corresponding wheel is adjusted depending on the geometry of the obstacle such that the vehicle body experiences the lowest possible vertical acceleration when driving over the obstacle. Data from the front axle driving over the obstacle is then evaluated and adjustments are made for balancing the rear axle as it drives over the obstacle. When the rear axle drives over the obstacle, adjustments are made to at least one wheel of the rear axle, taking into account the adjustments due to the front axle driving over the obstacle, such that the vehicle body does not experience any vertical acceleration when the rear axle drives over the obstacle.

Method for controlling an active chassis

A method for operating a damper system of a vehicle having an active damper and a hydraulic assembly arranged to control the damper. The hydraulic assembly includes a hydraulic pump and at least one control valve. Requirements placed upon the damper are defined with regard to the dynamics and force that are to be set. Depending on the defined requirements, the hydraulic pump of the hydraulic assembly operates at a minimum rotary speed and a defined opening setting of the at least one control valve. Based on the minimum rotary speed of the hydraulic pump and the defined opening settings of the control valve, a dynamic force setting of the damper takes place by way of a change of the opening setting of the at least one control valve. Alternatively or additionally, a high-value force setting of the damper takes place by changing the rotary speed of the pump.

Method for operating a damper system of a vehicle

A method for controlling a chassis of a vehicle includes the steps of: detecting a vertical wheel acceleration of a wheel of the vehicle, detecting a vertical body acceleration of a body of the vehicle, determining a crest-dip indication by comparing the vertical wheel acceleration and the vertical body acceleration, and controlling the chassis on the basis of the crest-dip indication. The crest-dip indication indicates whether or not the vehicle is currently driving over a crest (K) or a dip (S). A system for controlling a chassis of a vehicle includes a wheel acceleration sensor for detecting a vertical wheel acceleration of a wheel of the vehicle, a body acceleration sensor for detecting a vertical body acceleration of a body of the vehicle, and a control unit.

Method and system for controlling a chassis of a vehicle

A damping system of an active chassis for one wheel of a motor vehicle. The system includes a double-acting hydraulic cylinder and a damper having a piston, which damper is couplable to a wheel suspension system for the wheel. The system also includes a hydraulic pump, and a hydraulic unit having a hydraulic reservoir and valves. The hydraulic pump and the hydraulic unit cooperate with hydraulic chambers of the hydraulic cylinder such that, depending on the direction of conveyance of the hydraulic pump, a movement of the piston in a first direction of actuation or in a second direction of actuation can be provided. The damper includes the hydraulic cylinder and the piston is designed such that, in the region of the damper, a flow of hydraulic oil via the piston or along the piston of the damper is at most 3 L/min.

Damping system for a wheel of a motor vehicle

A method of controlling a hydraulic actuator of an active spring damper element in a vehicle for damping a relative movement between a vehicle structure and a wheel suspension. A hydraulic arrangement is provided for controlling the hydraulic actuator, which includes a hydraulic pump and at least one control valve. In a first method step, a relative movement between the vehicle structure and wheel suspension is detected. A force to be provided by the hydraulic actuator and a volume flow to be provided by the hydraulic pump are determined based on the detected relative movement. Then, a speed of the hydraulic pump is set to provide the volume flow required for the position of the force.

Method for controlling a hydraulic actuator of an active chassis

A damping module for two damping devices on two wheel carriers of an axle of a vehicle, having a first damping circuit with a first upper damping connection to an upper damping chamber of a first damping device and a first lower damping connection to a lower damping chamber of the first damping device. A first pump device is arranged in a first pumping connection between the first upper damping connection and the first lower damping connection. Two valve combinations are oriented in opposite directions and include, in each case, a nonreturn valve (RV) and an adjustable throttle valve (DV) arranged in a first compensating connection. A second damping circuit with a second upper damping connection to an upper damping chamber of a second damping device and a second lower damping connection to a lower damping chamber of the second damping device are provided.

Method for adjusting the damping force of shock absorbers connected between a vehicle body and a wheel at vehicle corners of a motor vehicle, wherein at least one damping force (F, F, F) which is referred to a center of gravity of the vehicle body and is divided between axles of the vehicle and between the shock absorbers of the axles is determined as a function of at least one variable which represents a movement of the vehicle body and/or a movement of the respective wheel. For at least one of the damping forces which are referred to the center of gravity of the vehicle body, at least one division factor for the division of the damping forces is calculated between a front axle and a rear axle, and the division of the respective damping force (F, F, F) is adapted on the basis of this division factor.

Method and control device for adjusting the damping force of a shock absorber

A method for adjusting the damping force of shock absorbers, connected between a vehicle body and a wheel at vehicle corners of a motor vehicle, wherein at least one damping force which is referred to a center of gravity of the vehicle body and which is divided between the shock absorbers of the respective wheels of the motor vehicle is determined as a function of at least one variable which represents the movement of the vehicle body and/or a movement of the respective wheel. For at least one of the lifting, pitching and rolling modal directions, the respective damping force is determined as a function of a predefined, constantly maintained degree of damping of respective modal direction.

A method for setting the damping force for at least one motor vehicle vibration damper which is connected between a vehicle body and a wheel, wherein, for the vibration damper or for each vibration damper, a damping force is determined and set within an actuating range defined by a lower limiting value and an upper limiting value, as a function of a vertical movement of the vehicle body, and as a function of a vertical movement of the respective wheel, and wherein the lower limiting value of the actuating range is also determined as a function of the vertical movement of the vehicle body and as a function of the vertical movement of the respective wheel.
