A manually operated implement is provided having a housing fixed on a frame and accommodating an internal combustion engine that is adapted to drive a tool. The implement has a front hand grip secured to the frame, and a rear handle secured to a side of the frame that is remote from the tool. The rear handle is mounted to the frame in such a way as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation. A mounting is provided that comprises a pin mounted in a receiver, the receiver being embodied such that it is adapted to be split.

Manually operated tool

A portable handheld work apparatus, such as a motorized cultivator () or the like, includes a frame () which extends essentially in the longitudinal direction () of the work apparatus. A drive motor () is fixed at one end () of the frame () and a work tool is driven by this drive motor. The opposite-lying end () includes at least a handle () for guiding the work apparatus during the operation thereof. In order to make possible an ergonomic work posture of the operator, the handle () lies facing away upwardly from the ground surface () in the work position of the motorized work apparatus. The work position is a position in which the work tool lies on the ground surface () to be worked.

Portable handheld work apparatus

A manually guided implement is provided and has an internal combustion engine and a power take-off housing to which the engine is secured. A centrifugal clutch is provided for achieving a positive connection, as a function of engine speed, between a drive part, which is driven by the engine and is rotatably mounted on the engine side, and a power take-off part that is rotatably mounted in the housing. The clutch has at least one centrifugally actuatable clutch body in the region of the drive part, and in the region of the power take-off part has a clutch housing that overlaps the clutch body. The clutch furthermore has a locating bearing that is disposed between and coaxial with the drive part and the power take-off part. Locating pins are provided for aligning the engine relative to the housing, with the pins extending with play into appropriate receiving openings.

A manually guided implement having an air-cooled internal combustion engine for driving a tool is provided. The engine is disposed in a housing, with cooling air being conveyed by a fan wheel that is fixedly held on the crankshaft of the engine and that is accommodated in a cooling air spiral case that is open toward the engine. Formed in the housing is an air inlet via which ambient air can be drawn into the cooling air spiral case. A base of the spiral case is disposed between the fan wheel and the engine and is provided with a second cooling air inlet that provides communication between the interior of the housing and portions of the cooling air spiral case that convey cooling air.

Manually guided implement

A manually guided suction device or blower is provided that has a housing in which is formed a spiral blower path in which is disposed an impeller that is rotatably driven by a drive motor. The spiral blower path has an air-conveying air inlet and an air-withdrawing outlet. A connector is provided for the detachable connection of an air-conveying connection conduit, whereby when the connection conduit is mounted it overlaps with the connector, which is secured to the housing, over a prescribed axial length. To achieve a mechanically secure connection, an annular sealing element is held in a groove in a surface of the connector or connection conduit in the overlap region, wherein over the entire circumference thereof, the sealing element projects beyond such surface.

Manually guided suction device or blower

A manually guided implement having a drive motor is provided. Control elements, such as a gas throttle and an arresting element, are pivotably disposed on a grip of the implement disposed remote from the motor. The arresting element is fixed in position on the throttle by a pivot joint, and is held in a position of rest by a spring element. The arresting element can be pivoted out of the rest position into an arresting position by the hand of an operator. The arresting position defines a starting throttle position of the gas throttle on the grip of the implement.

Manually guided implement having a drive motor

The invention relates to a two-stroke engine for a portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw, cutoff machine, brushcutter or the like. A crankcase ( ) is formed below the engine cylinder ( ). A piston ( ) moves up and down in the cylinder ( ) and drives a crankshaft ( ) rotatably journalled in the crankcase ( ). A fuel-containing mixture is supplied via a membrane carburetor ( ) to the combustion chamber ( ) delimited between the piston ( ) and the cylinder ( ). A bypass channel ( ) is provided parallel thereto and supplies essentially fuel-free air to the combustion chamber ( ). The bypass channel ( ) opens into a channel segment ( ) via a connecting piece ( ) fixedly attached to the cylinder ( ). The channel segment ( ) is formed in the cylinder wall ( ). A spark plug ( ) and an ignition control device ( ) are assigned to the combustion chamber ( ). The ignition control device ( ) is fixedly mounted with a portion to the cylinder ( ) via one attachment point ( ) and is fixedly mounted to the connecting piece ( ) via another attachment point ( ).

Two-stroke engine

A hedge trimmer has a tool that is driven by a drive unit. At least one vibration-dampened handle is secured to the drive unit. The handle comprises a one-piece component having a grip portion and a mounting portion for mounting on the drive unit. To simplify mounting of the handle, the grip portion and the mounting portion are interconnected by a vibration-dampening intermediate portion. The mounting portion along with the intermediate portion and the grip portion form the one-piece or monolithic component.

A manually guided implement having a drive motor is provided. For a translatory movement of a tool member, the rotational movement of the drive motor must be converted by a gear arrangement, which has a gear wheel that is coupled with a component that glides on the end face of the gear wheel. To significantly reduce frictional losses and also wear of the pertaining components, a constantly effective, reliable lubricant is required. For this reason, at least one cutout is provided in the main body of the gear wheel and/or in the component that can glide on the end face thereof. Such cutouts are open to a glide plane and serve to accommodate a lubricant.

An exhaust gas muffler for an internal combustion engine, especially in a manually guided implement such as a power chain saw and the like, is provided. The muffler has a housing having an inlet opening and an outlet for engine exhaust gas. An essentially cylindrical spark killer screen is fixed in position at a wall opening of the muffler housing that forms the outlet. The spark killer screen projects into the interior of the muffler housing. Adjoining the spark killer screen on the outer side of the muffler housing as an extension of the cylindrical spark killer screen is an exhaust gas pipe. This pipe is provided with threads and serves as a fastening device with which the spark killer screen and the exhaust gas pipe, as a fire protector, are fixed in position in the wall opening of the muffler housing.

Exhaust gas muffler

A hedge clipper is provided that has an internal combustion engine that is to be started by hand. By means of a clutch and a gear mechanism, the engine drives cutting blades in a reciprocating manner; the cutting blades are guided and held in a cutter bar. Disposed on the output side of the clutch is a brake drum around which extends a brake band. The first end of the brake band is fixed to the housing, and the second end of the brake band is held on a pivotable brake lever that is acted upon by a brake spring that urges the brake band into engagement against the brake drum. The brake lever can be moved into an inoperative position of the band brake by a release lever against the force of the brake spring. The release lever cooperates with an adjusting cam that is disposed directly adjacent to the brake lever and in the inoperative position of the band brake forms a rest stop for the brake lever, receiving the force of the brake spring.

Hedge clippers

A hand-operated tool has a casing containing a motor for driving a tool member of the tool and a metallic tubular grip with a tube wall connected to the casing. The tube wall of the tubular grip has a profiled outer mantle surface made by deforming the tube wall. The profiled outer mantle surface has raised sections and indentations extending in the longitudinal direction of the tubular grip.

Hand-operated tool

The invention is directed to a cutter apparatus having a stationary blade and a rotating blade. The rotating blade is driven in rotation by a drive motor. The rotating motion causes the knife and blade to slide relative and over each other in a manner of scissors. The blade and knife each include a plurality of cutting edges with the cutting edges of the knife and blade being so arranged that they run toward each other at an angle opening outwardly. The cutting edges of the stationary blade are formed on radially extending fingers arranged in a star-shaped configuration which facilitates the manipulation of the cutter apparatus and improves the cutting quality thereof. The cutting apparatus is suitable for all kinds of vegetation including leaves and grass blades.

Cutting apparatus

The invention relates to a two-handle arrangement for a handheld portable tool having a drive motor and equipped with forward and rearward handles for two-handed operation. Each of these handles includes respective actuating elements which can be actuated only in a specific sequence. First, force must be applied to the actuating element on the forward handle and only when a corresponding actuation of the throttle lever takes place is there an increase in the speed of the drive motor. The invention is especially suited for handheld portable tools equipped with an internal combustion engine such as motor-driven chain saws, hedge trimmers and the like.

Two-handle arrangement for a handheld portable tool

The invention relates to a two-handle arrangement for a handheld portable tool having a drive motor and equipped with forward and rearward handles for two-handled operation. Each of these handles includes respective actuating elements which can be actuated only in a specific sequence.
