A crankcase for a reciprocating piston engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, includes at least first one wall region that has a greater wall thickness than at least one second wall region of the crankcase that adjoins the first wall region. The crankcase is produced from an aluminum alloy and by at least mainly laminar die casting and is heat-treated completely or heat-treated completely and additionally locally or heat-treated only locally.

A cylinder head device for an internal combustion engine includes a cylinder head having a first receiving region arranged on an inlet side of the cylinder head for at least one first camshaft to be mounted on the cylinder head, and at least one second receiving region arranged on an outlet side of the cylinder head which faces away from the inlet side for at least one second camshaft to be mounted on the cylinder head. The receiving regions are separated from one another at least in certain areas by an intermediate wall of the cylinder head which is arranged at least in certain areas between the receiving regions. A duct element, by means of which at least one element of the cylinder head device can be supplied with lubricant, runs in the intermediate wall.

An intake module an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes at least one air duct element via which air is to be supplied to the internal combustion engine, and a cylinder head cover connected to the air duct element by means of which a cylinder head of the internal combustion engine is to be at least partially covered. A lubricant separation device and a cooling device for cooling the air are integrated into the intake module.

In an internal combustion engine comprising a plurality of cylinders with at least one cylinder head including inlet channels extending from an inlet flange surface to a cylinder inlet and outlet channels extending from a cylinder outlet to an opening in an outlet flange surface and an oil chamber provided in the cylinder head for supplying lubricant to an actuation device for gas exchange valves, the inlet flange and the outlet flange have flat surfaces which are arranged at an angle relatively to each other so that the surface planes intersect above the cylinder head and the cylinder head, as a result, has an essentially triangular cross-section.
