An aerosol generating substrate comprising an aerosol generating material, wherein the aerosol generating material comprises an amorphous solid, the amorphous solid comprising 1-60 wt % of a gelling agent; 5-80 wt % of an aerosol generating agent; and 1-70 wt % of an active ingredient; wherein these weights are calculated on a dry weight basis; wherein bi-modal or multi-modal release of one or more active ingredients of the amorphous solid is observed in use.

Aerosol generation

An aerosol-generating amorphous solid comprising an active ingredient, wherein when a sheet of the aerosol-generating amorphous solid having an area of 43.1 mmand area density of 90 g/mis heated to 230° C. for a period of 3 seconds under a 1.1 L/min airflow, at least 50 wt % of the active ingredient is aerosolized.

Disclosed herein is an aerosol generating substrate comprising an aerosol generating material. The aerosol generating material comprises an amorphous solid. The amorphous solid comprises an active ingredient, wherein at least 70 wt % of the active ingredient aerosolised on heating of the aerosol generating material to 370° C. for a ten-second period under a 1.95 L/min airflow.

An aerosol generating substrate comprising an aerosol generating material. The aerosol generating material comprises an amorphous solid which comprises 1-60 wt % of a gelling agent, 5-80 wt % of an aerosol generating agent and optionally 0.1-60 wt % of at least one active substance and/or flavorant (dry weight basis). The amorphous solid comprises from about 1 wt % to about 15 wt % water, calculated on a wet weight basis.
