A steel strip, sheet or blank used for painted parts, wherein the steel strip, sheet or blank is optionally metallic coated. According to the invention, the steel has grains with an essentially equi-axed median grain size smaller than 11.0 micrometer, resulting in a difference in Waviness &#x394;Wsa&#x2264;0.12 &#x3bc;m between the surface before and after the forming of the strip, sheet or blank. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a steel strip.

Steel for painted parts

A method of making a wrought aluminium-magnesium alloy rolled product, having a composition (in wt. %) of: 3.1&#x3c;Mg&#x3c;4.5; 0.4&#x3c;Mn&#x3c;0.85; 0.4&#x3c;Zn&#x3c;0.8; 0.06&#x3c;Cu&#x3c;0.35; 0.06&#x3c;Cr&#x3c;0.2; Fe&#x3c;0.35; Si&#x3c;0.2; Zr&#x3c;0.05; Ti&#x3c;0.3; impurities&#x2266;0.05 each up to a total of max. 0.15, and balance aluminium.

Wrought aluminium-magnesium alloy product

A multi-layered brazing sheet with improved long life corrosion resistance achieved by balancing the Zn, Cu, Mn, Si and Mg content of the core and interliner alloy. The brazing sheet has a core of a 3xxx alloy, an inner braze cladding of a 4xxx alloy, and between core and inner braze cladding an interliner of a 3xxx alloy. The 3xxx alloy of the core has 0.55-1.0 wt % Cu, 0.7-1.8 wt % Mn, &#x3c;0.3 wt % Mg, &#x3c;0.4 wt % Zn. The 3xxx alloy of the interliner has &#x3c;0.25 wt % Cu, 0.5-1.5 wt % Mn, &#x3c;0.3 wt % Mg, 0.1-5.0 wt % Zn. A 1xxx or 7xxx alloy could be used for the interliner instead of the 3xxx alloy.

Multi-layered brazing sheet

Disclosed is a process for producing an Al&#x2014;Mn alloy sheet with improved liquid film migration resistance when used as core alloy in brazing sheet, including the steps of: casting an ingot having a composition comprising (in weight percent): 0.5&#x3c;Mn&#x2266;1.7, 0.06&#x3c;Cu&#x2266;1.5, Si&#x2266;1.3, Mg&#x2266;0.25, Ti&#x3c;0.2, Zn&#x2266;2.0, Fe&#x2266;0.5, at least one element of the group of elements of 0.05&#x3c;Zr&#x2266;0.25 and 0.05&#x3c;Cr&#x2266;0.25; other elements &#x3c;0.05 each and total &#x3c;0.20, balance Al; homogenisation and preheat; hot rolling; cold rolling (including intermediate anneals whenever required), and wherein the homogenisation temperature is at least 450&#xb0; C. for a duration of at least 1 hour followed by an air cooling at a rate of at least 20&#xb0; C./h and wherein the pre-heat temperature is at least 400&#xb0; C. for at least 0.5 hour.

The invention relates to an aluminium brazing alloy, ideally suitable as fin stock material, having a composition, in weight %: Si 0.7-1.2, Mn 0.7-1.2, Mg up to 0.35, Fe up to 0.8, Zn up to 3.0, Ni up to 0.005, Cu up to 0.5, optionally one or more members selected from the group comprising Ti up to 0.20, In up to 0.20, Zr up to 0.25, V up to 0.25, and Cr up to 0.25, others up to 0.05 each and up to 0.15 in total, and an Al balance.
