An electrical assembly may include a first housing unit, a second housing unit, and a locking member. The first housing unit may include a guide portion. The second housing unit may be releasably connectable to the first housing unit. The locking member may be configured to slidably engage the guide portion. The locking member may be adjustable relative to the first housing unit and the second housing unit to an unlocked position and a locked position. When the locking member is in the unlocked position, the second housing unit may be removable from the first housing unit. When the locking member is in the locked position, the second housing unit may be secured to the first housing unit via the locking member.

An electrical assembly may include an electrical component including a terminal and/or circuit electrically connectable to a controller. The circuit may include a temperature sensor disposed proximate the terminal. The circuit may be configured to initiate a status change of said controller if a temperature of the terminal reaches a predetermined threshold. A method of operating an electrical assembly may include providing power from a power source to an electrical component and/or one or more loads, passively monitoring a current of the electrical component, and/or activating the status change of said controller if the current exceeds a current threshold.

An electrical unit includes a circuit board, a plurality of first terminals having respective first tabs fixed to the circuit board, a plurality of second terminals having respective second tabs fixed to the circuit board, the second tabs offset from the first tabs in a first direction and a second direction, and/or a terminal housing disposed over the plurality of first terminals and the plurality of second terminals, and connected to the circuit board. A method of assembling an electrical unit includes connecting first tabs with the circuit board, connecting second tabs with the circuit board such that each second tab is at least partially offset from each of the first tabs the plurality of first terminals in a first direction and a second direction, and/or disposing the terminal housing over the first and second terminals.

A surface mount technology (SMT) terminal header is described for providing an electrical connection to a first printed circuit board (PCB). The SMT terminal header includes multiple first electrically conductive connector elements each having a base configured for surface mount attachment to the first PCB, and an insulative housing having multiple cells and a fixation member configured to attach the housing to the first PCB. Each of the multiple cells is configured to at least partially house one of the multiple first electrically conductive connector elements. Each of the first electrically conductive connector elements includes a position assurance member configured to attach the first electrically conductive connector element to at least one of the multiple cells of the insulative housing.

Surface mount technology terminal header and method for providing an electrical connection to a printed circuit board

A system is described for providing an electrical ground connection for a circuit assembly. The system may include a housing for the circuit assembly, the housing having an electrically conductive fixation member configured for attachment to an electrically conductive element outside the housing. The system may also include an electrically conductive feature configured for attachment to the circuit assembly, the electrically conductive feature comprising a flexible contact terminal configured to contact the electrically conductive fixation member inside the housing. Attachment of the electrically conductive fixation member to the electrically conductive element outside the housing enables an electrical ground connection for the circuit assembly via the electrically conductive feature comprising the flexible contact terminal.

System and method for providing an electrical ground connection for a circuit assembly

A system and method for mounting an electronics structure may include attaching a circuit assembly to a first support structure such that the circuit assembly is movable relative to the first support structure. It may also include at least partially covering the circuit assembly with a cover and moving the circuit assembly such that a predetermined portion of the circuit assembly is aligned with a predetermined portion of the cover. It may further include moving the cover such that the cover is attachable to a second support structure, and attaching the cover to the second support structure such that the predetermined portion of the circuit assembly remains aligned with the predetermined portion of the cover.

System and method for mounting an electronics arrangement

An electrical connector assembly is provided with a fastener with an elongate body with a threaded portion to receive an electrical terminal, and to receive a threaded fastener to retain the electrical terminal. A conductive body cooperates with the elongate fastener body to engage the electrical terminal and to limit rotation of the fastener relative to the conductive body. A seal is provided between the fastener and the conductive body.

A connector assembly includes a connector, a circuit board, a housing. The connector may include a first portion, a second portion, and/or a third portion. The circuit board may include a first circuit board portion and/or a second circuit board portion. The connector may be configured to connect the first circuit board portion and/or the second circuit board portion to the housing. The first portion may be connected to the housing; the second portion may be connected to the first portion of the circuit board, and/or the third portion may be connected to the second portion of the circuit board. Connector assembly and method

In at least one embodiment, a connector assembly for being positioned on a vehicle is provided. The connector assembly includes first and second connector portions. The first connector portion defines a first and second channels. Each of the first and second channels are positioned on opposite sides of the first connector portion. The first connector portion includes a first contact member and a second contact member. The second connector portion includes a first shutter and a second shutter positioned on an outer surface of the second connector portion. Each of the first shutter and the second shutter are configured to receive the first contact member and the second contact member, respectively. Each of the first and second shutters pivot about an axis in response to receiving the first contact member and the second contact member, respectively, to enable the first connector portion to mate with the second connector portion.

An unit housing includes a first housing member, a second housing member, a circuit board disposed at least partially between the first housing member and the second housing member, a positioning column disposed at least partially in the circuit board, a first resilient member connected to the positioning column between the circuit board and the first housing member, and a second resilient member connected to the positioning column between the circuit board and the second housing member.

Electrical unit

An electrical unit includes a housing member, a circuit board, a header connected to the housing member, and a plurality of electrical terminals disposed in the header and connected to the circuit board. The header may be connected to the housing member such that movement of the header is restricted and forces applied to the circuit board via the housing member are limited. The header may include a retainer configured to retain the header relative to the housing member. The housing member may include a latch configured to engage the retainer.

A female fuse terminal is provided with a longitudinally extending blade portion sized to be received within a socket. An intermediate portion extends from the blade portion and extends at an acute angle from a longitudinal direction of the blade portion. A printed circuit board assembly is provided with a (PCB) having a socket sized to receive the terminal.

A junction box assembly is provided with a conductive boss having a first contact surface and a second contact surface spaced apart from the first contact surface. A pair of threaded conductive studs each extends from one of the contact surfaces. A housing is overmolded onto the boss so that the first contact surface, the second contact surface, and the pair of studs are exposed. A printed circuit board (PCB) is oriented in the housing. A busbar is oriented in the housing in electrical communication with the PCB. The busbar has a conductive tab with an aperture formed therethrough. One of the pair of studs is received within the aperture and the contact tab is in electrical communication with one of the first contact surface and the second contact surface.

Electrical junction box connections

A fuse housing assembly is provided with a housing having a base adapted to be mounted to a printed circuit board (PCB) at least partially over a through aperture. The housing has at least one receptacle sized to receive a case-type fuse. The housing has an aperture in the base aligned with the at least one receptacle for receipt of a terminal blade from the PCB for electrical communication with the case-type fuse. At least one connector blade is mounted to the housing and extends into the at least one receptacle and extends through the base to extend through the PCB through aperture for electrical communication with the case-type fuse and the connector.
