An exercise device includes a belt and a shoulder harness, the latter attachable to a user about the thorax. The belt is extensible about a user below user's chest or thorax. Two bungee cords are attachable one at its ends to the user's hands, and the other at its ends to the user's feet. An elongate strip has a pair of parallel adjacent channels, the hand bungee traversing the upper channel and the feet bungee traversing the lower channel. The two channels are connected a back portion of the shoulder harness. Two shoulder straps are each fixed at one end to the belt and are continuous with the back portion of the shoulder harness.

Wearable exercise and posture-awareness assist device

A seat cushion for improvement of sitting posture and relief from back and leg pain has a seat portion tapering down from a back end toward a narrow front or forward end. The front end is provided with a vertical projection in the nature of a pommel. The pommel or post is sufficiently large to prevent a user from comfortably crossing his or her legs.

These two elongate tensile members are connectable at their distal ends to the feet of the user. Another two tensile members are connected at their proximal ends to a back portion or strap of the harness and at their distal ends to or about the user's hands.

A device for facilitating or enhancing torso and pelvis stability exercises includes two elongate semi-cylindrical resiliently compressible members so coupled to one another as to maintain a mutually parallel configuration, the resiliently compressible members each having a planar side and a cylindrically arcuate side, the planar sides being co-planar with one another. A user attachment component holds the resiliently compressible members to the user with the planar sides in contact with the user in one use configuration and so that the arcuate sides are in contact with the user in an alternate use configuration.

A device and an associated method for assisting in maintaining awareness of skeleton-muscular alignment includes a chest harness attachable to a user about the thorax and a head harness. Elongate tensile member segments extend from opposite ends of a back strap right at the beginning of the armpit of the chest harness. These tensile member segments are connectable at their distal ends to the feet of the user. Further tensile member segments extend from opposite ends of the back strap of the harness and are connectable at their distal ends to or about the user's hands. The headband includes an elastic cord that is wound about the headband and is connectable at opposite ends to the hands or wrists of the user.

The present invention is an improved Pilates chair having a seat top with an underside, a base that is wider than the seat top, a plurality of bracing members between the seat top and the base, a swingable lever having an upper end and a lower end disposed between the seat top and the base, the lower end being hingeably attached from the base, an adjusting block disposed slidably along the lever between the upper and lower ends thereof, means on the adjusting block for locking it in a position along the lever, and one or more elongated helical springs each having two ends, one of the ends being attached from the underside of the seat top, and the other end being attached from the adjusting block, whereby sliding said adjusting block along said lever, and locking it in a position therealong, will result in a greater or lesser extent of stretch being imparted to the at least one helical spring.
