A modular Radio Frequency transceiver includes a frequency synthesizer module arranged to generate a local oscillator signal. At least one transmitter module and/or at least one receiver module are arranged adjacent to the frequency synthesizer module. Each transmitter module and receiver module is arranged to mix at least one respective input signal with the local oscillator signal. Adjacently arranged modules are electrically connected to each other with respect to at least data signals, the local oscillator signal and a power supply.

Squaring loss inhibition for low signal levels in positioning systems

The invention relates to a phase-locked loop circuit including a phase detector, loop filter and an oscillator. The loop filter is implemented digitally instead of by means of analog components. The chip area required for such a digital loop filter is substantially smaller than an analog equivalence and can be implemented on a single integrated circuit die together with an oscillator, phase detector and possible counters. There is thus no need for the use of external components, greatly simplifying the design and manufacture of the circuit, and having reduced assemblage costs. Further, by means of the digital filter the loop dynamics are also easily changed.

Embodiments of a wireless communication device and a method for reducing in-band interference in a GPS receiver are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, an adaptive filter may be used to measure in-band interference from in-band signals generated from coupled signals of a handset transmitter. The in-band interference may be subtracted from digital GPS signals provided by the GPS receiver. In some embodiments, the in-band interference is not subtracted from the GPS signals when the handset transmitter is not active.

Wireless communication device and method for reducing in-band interference in a GPS receiver

A GPS system is configured to manage interference from disturbing signals. The system includes an antenna, an RF front end unit, a filtering unit, amplifying circuits, a carrier recovery unit, a correlation unit, and a calculating unit that performs range calculations. A multiplying unit, which is positioned between the carrier recovery unit and the correlation unit, is adapted to multiply the signal from the carrier recovery unit to the correlation unit with either zeros, '0', or ones, '1', and a control logic unit is configured to control the multiplying unit into using zeros, &#x201c;0&#x201d;, if interference is detected and into using ones, &#x201c;1&#x201d;, if no interference is detected.
