A receiver for reducing an interference component in a receive signal is provided. The interference component is caused by a first interferer emitting payload data and a second interferer emitting only broadcast data for communication control. The receiver includes a first compensation circuit configured to generate a first compensation signal based on a component of the receive signal received from the first interferer. Further, the receiver includes a second compensation circuit configured to generate a second compensation signal based on only a-priori knowledge of at least one broadcast channel carrying the broadcast data, or based on a detection of symbols in the receive signal which represent the broadcast data. The detection of symbols is based on only the a-priori knowledge of the at least one broadcast channel. The receiver also includes a combination circuit configured to combine the receive signal, the first compensation signal and the second compensation signal.

Receivers and methods for reducing an interference component in a receive signal

A communication device is provided that includes a receiver configured to receive a signal. The communication device further includes a determination circuit configured to determine a data packet of the received signal based on a predefined packet structure. The communication device further includes a decoder configured to determine a key information. The decoder is configured to decode a first portion of the data packet based on the key information, to determine a redundancy information of a second portion of the data packet and to verify a packet information of the first portion and the second portion based on the redundancy information. The communication device further includes a detection circuit configured to detect an interference signal of the received signal and to activate the decoder if the interference signal is detected.

A method and system for link quality metric based antenna selection for transceiver are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for selecting an antenna from multiple antennas associated with a receiver, includes receiving multi-carrier modulated signals via a currently active antenna of the receiver, and estimating a predicted packet error rate (PER) associated with a current receive path of the receiver. The current receive path is used to process the multi-carrier modulated signals. The method further includes selecting a next antenna from the multiple antennas for forming a next receive path of the receiver based on the predicted PER and a packet error history associated with at least one previous receive path.
